SYNFACTS Highlights in Chemical Synthesis In SYNFACTS, current research results in chemical synthesis from the primary literature are evaluated, summarized and enriched with personal comments by experts in their fields on a monthly basis. The journal stimulates the reader‘s research and the development of exciting new ideas.

Synthetic chemists are the explorers of a new world, and whereas many chemists can dream of exotic and appealing novel structures, it is the synthetic chemists, with their knowledge of chemical reactivity, who transform dreams into reality. SYNTHESIS has always been one of my favourite chemistry journals since I started my chemical studies as an undergraduate. As the Editor-in-Chief I ensure that all the major fields in modern synthetic chemistry are covered in SYNTHESIS. Maintaining high editorial standards, we aim to provide our worldwide readership with exciting novel results in the ever-expanding field of synthetic organic chemistry and assist them in their creative research work. SYNTHESIS Editor-in-Chief Paul Knochel Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich, Germany

Editors: E. M. Carreira

P. Knochel Ever since I began reading scientific literature, I particularly enjoyed the Thieme Chemistry journals. SYNLETT not only publishes stimulating communications on chemical synthesis, but also does it with great style and clarity, and with a certain flair that I can‘t find in other journals. Becoming the SYNLETT Editor-in-Chief in 2015 was a true honor for me. Together with my co-editors and the staff at Thieme, I am committed to a continuation of the great tradition of publishing exciting synthetic chemistry with a young and personal touch. We want to continue to provide a platform of success for young investigators proposing new and unusual ideas and give you, the authors, the feeling of dealing with real people and scientists like yourself. Essential for synthetic organic chemists

Science of Synthesis Your resource for the most reliable chemical transformations!

Science of Synthesis helps you get up to speed on a chosen field of research quickly and complete the design of your synthetic strategy. It is your synthetic methodology tool for the most reliable chemical transformations available!

To me, the true value of Science of Synthesis is its systematic approach to reprocess the state-of-the-art for any functional group. When I quickly need a competent overview of the chemistry of this or that class of compounds, Science of Synthesis is my immediate choice. Conventional review articles do usually not provide this information.” Martin Oestreich TU Berlin, Germany

This reference work comprises the following content and is available in several formats which are introduced on the following pages. Original Editions The largest collection of evaluated methods in organic synthesis worldwide.

Knowledge Updates Continuous updates about significant developments in synthetic methodology.

Houben-Weyl The popular standard reference work for chemists engaged in organic synthesis.

Reference Library Series of expert evaluated content focusing on areas of particular current interest.

Science of Synthesis is an indispensable tome of chemical information organized in an intuitive and logical way. It contains information on nearly every aspect of chemical reactivity and, for me, is the “go-to” resource for rapidly learning about a new area. I use it regularly in preparation for classes and for consulting visits – it simply gives me the information I need far more easily than any search engine is capable of – and very often contains references and insight that cannot be found anywhere else.” Phil Baran Scripps Research Institute, La Jolla, CA, USA

I strongly recommend Science of Synthesis because it not only provides an effective method to find information for your research, but also is a very useful resource to organic chemists and graduate students. From SOS, you can easily find the history and development of each type of reaction. […] Try it, I really believe you will find something different here.“ Shuanhu Gao East China Normal University, Shanghai, China

Today, we have a flood of chemical information from Web sites as well as various search engines. […] Science of Synthesis provides you with information that you could never obtain from other sources which is always appropriate and reliable. I strongly recommend that you consult Science of Synthesis whenever you plan an organic synthesis that you are having difficulty with in your research project. I promise you that Science of Synthesis will provide all of the key knowledge without any of the unnecessary information.” Hisashi Yamamoto Chubu University, Japan
