TEAM BIOGRAPHIES
AGENCY INFORMATION The company was incorporated in 2001 as Courtois & Mather Creative Inc. The firm operated for one year with the two founding partners Luc Courtois and Rob Mather. In 2002 Eric Mills joined the team followed by Jim Kalogerakos, forming the firm’s core management group. In 2006, we re-named and re-branded the agency as 180 Marketing, reflecting our full-service capabilities evolved from our earlier strength in creative. 2012 brought about more change. We moved our offices to 330 Vansickle Road in St. Catharines. This new location gave us the space we needed for a growing company. Currently the agency employs 12 full time staff members. The following principles have guided our business, helping us manage our growth year after year.
1 MULTI-DISCIPLINED INPUT AND INSIGHT The 180 Marketing team brings together more than graphic designers. Our staff consists of multi-disciplined professionals - trained and educated in history, philosophy, economics, marketing, management as well as the arts. The result being a well thought-out, confident and creative product.
2 SERVICES BASED ON SOUND MARKETING Research, established marketing principles and critical thinking drive our creative and everything we do. We ask a lot of questions. We conduct primary and secondary research as required. We study what has worked in the past and what hasn’t. We examine competitors and identify trends. Only then do we make, with confidence, recommendations on how our clients should proceed. Once approved, we execute.
3 WE MAKE THINGS EASY. NO POWER PLAYS We have a high-energy team of experienced professionals who pride themselves on the work and service they deliver. Our approach is direct and uncluttered. Our experience and processes have been streamlined over the years enabling us to eliminate unnecessary layers that often bog down other agencies. As a result, turnaround times for all projects are faster.
4 TECHNOLOGY AND SUBJECT MATTER EXPERTISE 180 Marketing invests in most current hardware and software to provide our team with the tools they need to excel. Our carefully vetted relationships with third party vendors ensure that we offer our clients leading edge products and services.

In 1990 he founded info DATA Marketing Research, specializing in competitive intelligence and electronic distribution of Statistics Canada data. Concurrently he launched eBO2, an online publishing company that licensed and distributed content over a propriety platform to over 300 ISPs worldwide. When 180 Marketing saw the emergence of video as a powerful selling tool, Jim spent 18 months in R&D developing another propriety platform and business model called BODtv® (Brand On Demand Television), an online television network, content production, publishing and distribution system. A graduate of Humber College in graphic design with numerous years of experience as an art director throughout the Niagara Region, Rob’s keen eye and attention to detail add strength in developing outstanding designs, for print material, signage and the latest online initiatives. Rob liked to golf, run, paint and travel, but most of these hobbies have been put on hold since the birth of his son as paint brushes have been traded for pencil crayons, and he now schedules the bulk of his time on his sons’ agenda for lego building, reading Goosebumps books and becoming an expert of Minecraft.

Eric was a communications assistant for a local MPP for several years and worked in account management and administration in an agency environment for 15 years. BRONTË BEAN WORDPRESS & WEBSITE DEVELOPER Brontë Bean joined the 180 Marketing team in the Spring of 2016 as our WordPress & Website Developer. Specializing in WordPress, Brontë fuses front and backend development with proficiency in HTML, CSS, LESS, Sass, XML, JavaScript, jQuery and SQL/MySQL, to name a few. But don’t let that coding savvy fool you – Brontë has a remarkable flair for web design too. Her passion for web development shines through in her ongoing commitment to explore and embrace the latest programming trends and techniques. Brontë graduated from Niagara College’s New Media & Web Design program, receiving the prestigious Associate Dean’s Award for her top marks in her program and leadership in mentoring many classmates through their course work. Brontë’s adventurous spirit is behind her wide range of pursuits in her free time, from Jays games to thrift-store shopping to axe throwing (don’t let that fool you either). She also loves to add to her eclectic collections of buttons, Funko Pop! and LEGO.
OLI ALTUNA GRAPHIC DESIGNER Oli was surrounded by natural beauty during his childhood in the Philippines, so it’s hardly a wonder that by grade 5 he was competing and winning art design contests. Seeing shapes, symmetry and further design elements in all things around him, Oli realized early there were no limitations to what he could design. Drawing from an already artistic family of furniture makers, painters and architects, Oli never went a moment without visual inspiration. After coming to Canada at 16 and finishing high school, Oli diligently worked to put himself through the prestigious 3 year Graphic Arts program at Niagara College, where his attentiveness to detail not only earned him the degree but matured his design skill set to stand out amongst his college peers. Only after a few months Oli was offered a graphic design position at 180, where today much of Oli’s inspiration comes from architecture, the swooping curves and sharp lines of modern transportation and technology. Cool music, a picturesque drive with a rich coffee and in his ‘world’s favourite uncle’ t-shirt, Oli has designed the perfect moment.
