FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 24
LANGLEY SECONDARY
Welcome to
DYSSEY ‘17 Our expectations are high for the Odyssey professional development day, as each year builds on the strengths of the last. This year is shaping up to be another outstanding conference. The sessions offered are dedicated to enhancing practice around the redesigned BC curriculum, as well as the four areas of the Langley School District’s vision: flexibility, passion, innovation, and inclusivity. You might have noticed that this year’s program is a little different. Many of our session C offerings are collaborative working sessions, continuations of the new curriculum workshops in session B. These sessions are a flexible space for you to dig a little deeper, share your resources and knowledge, and work on material aligned with the newly redesigned curriculum. Before you head to your first session, grab a coffee and take some time to connect with your colleagues. Our Odyssey program casts a wide net; it is a space for collaboration, evolution, and inspiration for staff of all sites and specialties. We would like to take this opportunity to extend a sincere thank you to all of our presenters, staff, and students for making this such an enriching day. Our district is very fortunate to have such passionate and dedicated staff in its ranks. Whether Instructional Services; Learning Support; Professional Services; Clerical Resources; Maintenance and Transportation; CUPE 1260 and 1851; the LPVPA; or the Langley Teachers’ Association, together, we’re a powerful force in our children’s lives and our community’s growth. Let’s go have an awesome day! Dawne Tomlinson, Director of Instruction Woody Bradford, Assistant Superintendent Gord Stewart, Acting Superintendent
