THAT there is still an urgent need for advice on how to Scout in Patrols and in small groups is plain to see if one moves among Troops. There is always a tendency for Scouting to degenerate and the cry of “Back to Scouting for Boys” must again and again be raised. I am deeply grateful to the Chief for his kindly Foreword and to the warm encouragement he has always given to these efforts of mine to follow up the trail he has blazed so well.
