Happy July! This is a quick newsletter to alert you to all the events in the Feria de Julio
It's July and that means Feria de Julio in Valencia - a month of concerts, fireworks, cinema, funfairs, dance and Jazz and the famous Battle of the Flowers all over the city, from the Historic Centre to the Beach. The Palau de MĂşsica holds its annual Jazz Festival with a brilliant lineup thi year that includes Johnny Winter, Herbie Hancock, Cassandra Wilson, Lizz Wright and Chick Corea, Stanley Clarke, Al Di Meola and Lenny White amongst a host of others. The Viveros concerts kick off tonight with Adamo and tomorrow night is Gloria Gaynor's turn, The Ten Tenors also play here again later in the month. There are great concerts almost every night in the gardens at great prices. Greenspace has concerts too - from international artistes, including Willy and Mink Deville, and the Heptones. There are concerts from dozens of brass bands in the Palau de la MĂşsica and the Plaza de Toros. There is Jazz in the street, there are Open-air art exhibitions and of course, there are fireworks, every weekend on the beach at Las Arenas. There is a huge funfair in the riverbed every night from 04 July and there are bullfights at the Plaza del Toros. The Parade and Battle of the Flowers is a great spectacle and takes place in the early evening of 27th July in the Alameda, marigolds at the ready! This is followed by a Mascleta, always a wonderful sight. The Full Timetable is here!
