Greater Pocono Chamber of Commerce Expo The Greater Pocono Chamber of Commerce will host the 26th Annual Business and Community Expo on Friday and Saturday, March 22 and 23 in East Stroudsburg University’s Koehler Fieldhouse. Showcasing more than 100 local businesses and organizations, the Business and Community Expo is the largest event of its kind in the Poconos. Each year, participating businesses create interactive booths to highlight current promotions and services. Visitors are welcome to browse the displays, meet with representatives and enjoy product sampling and giveaways. Discover the great products and services available in the Poconos! Visit the Expo in the Koehler Fieldhouse on the corner of Smith and Normal Streets in East Stroudsburg! Hours of operation are from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday. Celebrate Charter Day at Eckley Miners’ Village! Sunday, March 10 is Pennsylvania Charter Day! Celebrate the Commonwealth’s 332nd birthday during a special film screening event at Eckley Miners’ Village! Did you know that the Paramount Pictures film, “The Molly Maguires” was filmed in Eckley, Pennsylvania in 1969? The film, which stars award-winning actor Sean Connery, will be shown and discussed during the Charter Day celebration at Eckley Miners’ Village on Sunday, March 10 from 1 to 5 p.m. Jim Burke, who served as C.F.O. of Paramount Pictures during the movie’s 1969 filming, will present a lecture on Eckley’s portrayal and explain how the site was selected as a set location. All are welcome to attend this special Charter Day event. Information about memberships and volunteer opportunities at Eckley Miners’ Village will be available during the program. Museum doors open at noon. Admission is free. Eckley Miners’ Village is an example of a planned 19th-century coal mining town. March Events at Camelback Mountain Resort Spring weather is on the horizon, but winter fun is still in full swing Camelback Mountain Resort! The mountain sports destination hosts a variety of themed competitions and celebrations in March. • The Mountain Dew Vertical Challenge will take place on Camelback’s Pocono Raceway trail on Saturday, March 2. The free race series is open to skiers and snowboarders of all ages and abilities. Highlights include raffles, prizes and a post-race party. Registration begins at 8 a.m. Races begin at 11 a.m. • Saturday, March 9 brings Telefest back to Camelback Mountain. The annual telemark skiing event includes clinics, races, equipment demos and a “Tele Ski Scavenger Hunt” on the mountain. A lift ticket or season pass is required for participation.
