he countdown to Wally Lake Fest, ignited enthusiasm across the region with repeats and firsttimers alike ready to take in the sights, sounds and sails of this increasingly popular three day event set for Friday, August 28 through Sunday, August 30. The festival now in its 6th year continues to make waves out and about Lake Wallenpaupack and downtown Hawley.

hile feeling the warm sand between your toes many would agree is quite pleasing, opting to mix Wally Lake Fest up with Wallenpaupack Boat Tours’ land to see aqua approach proves an appealingly festive float opportunity. All aboard! Passengers not only join the wave of watercraft specta-
tors for the three day celebration, they also get to enjoy a 50-minute tour diving right into the history of the lake. Capturing the essence of Lake Wallenpaupack, excursions explore the Hydroelectric Dam, Shuman Point Natural Area and Epply Island. Spotting native wildlife along the way including Osprey, Blue Herons and Bald
Eagles, informative guides also share tidbits on the fish inhabiting the lake. WBT’s Bridget Gelderman considers the water way to enjoy the festival “stunning” extending an invitation for a leisurely glide absorbing delightful details on “Why this area has become a popular year round attraction.”
