The Great Stroudsburg Train Show Returns! All aboard! The Great Stroudsburg Train Show is moving to a new location! The 31st annual exhibition will take place on Sunday, November 18 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Jackson Township Firehouse on Route 715 in Reeders. Explore the popular pastime of model railroading at the Great Stroudsburg Train Show. Browse model trains from Lionel, MTH, Williams and others. Dealers in every category will be present to showcase their trains. See operating layouts in HO, N and O gauge, and assess the models on available test tracks. There will be exciting prize drawings every hour. A $4 donation is requested for admission; children under 12 enter free with a paying adult. All proceeds from The Great Stroudsburg Train Show fund the restoration and repair of the historic Tobyhanna Railroad Station. Veterans Honored during Fee Free Weekend, Parade Steamtown Honors Veterans with Fee Free Weekend The Steamtown National Historic Site will honor military veterans and their families by waiving Park Entrance Fees during Veterans Day Weekend. From Saturday, November 10 through Monday, November 12, all visitors will receive free admission to the park grounds, museum complex, exhibits and scheduled walking tours. Active duty military members and their families will also receive the $80 Annual Park Pass for free during Veterans Day Weekend. The Steamtown National Historic Site is located in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Its trains, museums and exhibits allow visitors to explore the history, technology and tales of steam railroading in Northeast Pennsylvania. MCVA Presents Stroudsburg Veterans Day Parade

It has been 14 years since the last Veterans Day Parade was held in Stroudsburg. This year, The Monroe County Veterans Association (MCVA) is bringing the tradition back! The newly-formed organization will host the 2012 Veterans Day Parade on Saturday, November 10 at 1 p.m. This year’s parade date coincides with the 60th anniversary of the end of the Korean War. In honor of this occasion, the MCVA has selected a local Korean War Veteran as Grand Marshal of the parade. Chief Warren Officer 3, John F. Howard Jr., U.S. Army (ret.) will lead more than 30 unit participants from the Stroudsburg High School grounds to Dansbury Park in East Stroudsburg. Visit beautiful Downtown Stroudsburg on November 10 and join the MCVA as they honor the men and women of the United States Armed Forces. The 21st annual Great Brews Classic Beer Festival will take place at the Galleria at Split Rock Resort on Saturday, November 17 and Sunday, November 18 from noon to 4 p.m. Get to the Galleria and enjoy live music on two stages, great food and craft vendors, educational seminars and beer from more than 50 of the country’s finest breweries. This year’s event features more breweries and beer selections as well as a new Heineken Race Car Raffle and entertaining contests. All ticketed guests will receive a commemorative beer tasting cup upon entry. The Great Brews Classic Beer Festival is open to guests ages 21 and older. Children are not permitted. Tickets may be purchased in advance or on the day of the event. Discounted rates are available for designated drivers and groups of 25 or more. Waverly Artisans’ Marketplace The 29th Annual Artisans’ Marketplace will take place at the Waverly Community House on Saturday and Sunday, November 17 and 18. More than 30 of the area’s most talented artisans and crafters will offer high quality, handmade items just in time for the holiday season. Browse beautiful photography, jewelry, and ceramics; there will be woodturnings by Fazio’s Turnings, glass items from Hand Blown Glass by Kyle Lavery, and apparel and accessories from area designers. Seasonal wreaths and baskets make great gifts, especially when filled with homemade treats like soaps and candles! From books to baked goods and stoneware to santas, there will be something for everyone at this year’s Artisans’ Marketplace. Visit the Holiday Hearth Booth and shop seasonal home decor, unique hand-blown glass ornaments and exclusive artwork. Skytop Hosts Holiday Arts Festival Escape the crowded stores and enjoy leisurely holiday shopping at the Eighth Annual Skytop Holiday Arts Festival! SHAWNEE MOUNTAIN IMPROVEMENTS The Shawnee Mountain Ski Area, a family and beginner-friendly ski resort, reveals equipment and program improvements for the 2012-13 winter snow sports season.
