he Mitta to Mount Beauty Mountain Bike Challenge has gone back to its roots. In those early days, it started on the road outside The Laurel Hotel in Mitta Mitta and finished in Hollonds Street, outside the Bakery. For a while the event started on the Mitta Golf Course and then in the caravan park – but now we’re back to a 10am start outside the recently renovated Laurel, now more colloquially known as The Mitta Pub. And this year it will finish in the car park of the West Peak Hotel in the heart of Mount he Beauty. Over the last two years he has progressed to be the fastest junior rider in Australia winning both the National Series and the National Championships in 2016. On March 26 Ben went and raced his first ever EWS (Enduro World Series) event in Rotorua, New Zealand. FALL LINES Michelle Graeber (Anxiety Recovery Centre Victoria CEO) and Raspal Khumra will be visiting Mount Beauty on the 26th and 27th of November to present two programs for the Mount Beauty Community. Both presentations are open to everyone in the Mount Beauty Community at no cost, and will only be presented in Mount Beauty. The free presentation of ‘Living with Anxiety and Building a Resilient Community’ will be held in the Auditorium, beside the Information Centre, and is an information session to give our community a greater understanding of anxiety. Bookings are not necessary. This is an evening session and will take place on Monday 26th November between 7pm and 8:30pm. All welcome. The “safeTALK” workshop is specifically directed toward noticing and responding to Suicide. In this three and a half hour workshop, you will learn how to become a suicide alert helper and better prepared to: • Notice and respond to situations in which thoughts of suicide may be present. • Apply basic TALK steps (Tell, Ask, Listen & Keepsafe). • Connect the person with thoughts of suicide to suicide first aid sources and further community resources. This cost of this workshop has been funded by a community grant by Alpine Shire, and is an internationally recognised program. Scheduled to be held at the Mount Beauty Neighbourhood Centre on Tuesday 27th November, from 9:30am to 1pm. This
