CONTEMPORARY ART CENTER

Contemporary art first appeared in Vietnam in the early 1980's, but nowaday it's still a weird and debat able classification to many people, even among artists communities. Attracting people by its unique characteristic and originality, contemporary art challenges almost rules and pushes over limits of classic art. Around the world, contemporary art has emerged and become a popular movement, succeeded in bringing freshly new experiences of art to audiences for decades. Meanwhile in Vietnam, it's only known and practiced by small groups of pioneer artists.

Ho Chi Minh city is the biggest and the most dynamic city in Vietnam, plays an essential role in Vietnam ese economy and culture. This may also be the place to begin developing contemporary art of Vietnam in a proper way.

Located in the northeast of Ho Chi Minh city, District 2 has been under urbanization to be a new financial center in 2020. Inspite of having many under construction projects, district 2 is famous for its hight standard lives and westernlization environment. District 2 is the com mon choice of many artists in HCMc for a place to live and to work. Creation and art is a big part of daily life there.

Reservation of natural stream and plants is not only for landscaping or view but also forming an open system to con trol water level affected by rain and tide, which may cause flood.

Traffic connection to other parts of city

Area: 3.1 ha

Bulding coverage ratio: 30%

Located in the south of Thu Thiem central core, this site have amazing position with good views to Central park and Reservation area. It also directly contact with a chanel and a small park alongside.

terrain and characteristics

With flat and low terrain, building site is located on a geologically unstable place, which common in Thu Thiem penninsula.

approaching

Main approaching is extending of Vong Cung avenue with 26m in width.

Can be approached by the road along central park, 22m wide.

Easy accesses for motor bikes, cars buses, and metro in the future.

activity of sun and wind RELATION TO NEarby BUILDINGS

Having no difference in activity of the Sun comparing to other parts of HCMc this site gains lots of light and heat over years.

Major wind pattern of this site is from south. Besides, local winds come from river around Thu Thiem peninsula, brings mois ture and fresh cool air.

Being located in an specific area for sport and cultural building, the site has good setbacks and open views.

Connect to other important facilities of area and city through completed modern traffic systems.

When the movement of contemporary art emerged in Vietnam, it led to endless debates among artists. Some loved it and others hated it, some practiced it and others turned away. Some artists considered contemporary art was an essential part of main stream. Meanwhile, others concluded that contemporary artwas absolutely chaostic, nonsense and unaceptable.

Creating an "action flow" along the center walking path is the overall idea of the project. The walking path is shaped like a scar carved deeply into the ground, seperate building into 2 part to remind the conflict in thought that contemporary art made by its existence.

On the flow, all actions of contemporary art takes place. That brings contemporary art into urban life and gradually make it become more aceptable to peo ple.

Strolling path is deliberate ly designed to sink into the lake due to the changing of water level twice a day.

My intention is creating a landscape that people can feel art by inter acting with art works as well as nature...

Phu Quoc is the largest island of Vietnam, located about 50km from main land. With total area of 574 square kilometres and pernament population of approximately 103000, Phu Quoc has great potential to develope marine agriculture. This project is building needed facilities to serve this aim, including research centers, factories, marine yield farming areas, exhibition and trading center, accommodation for experts and employees, ...

Being simple on design and seaside area weather resistance in material selection are the overall directions of the project, due to the needs of minimize taken time and resoureces.

CITY HOUSE NGUYEN CUU VAN

City house is now the largest management company for serviced apartment in Vietnam, with over 60 locations and 2300 units located from the Middle to the South.

in 2019, our office associated for the first time designing a 12 stories apartment in Binh Thanh district with high-standard serviced included terrace pool and gym. The client also added many specific requirements of room facility and minimum area due to selection of potential customers .

Giga hotel and resort's a complex project, including a 5 stars hotel with its villas and bungalows, a water park and outdoor recreation facilities. Located in a harsh desert area of Binh Thuan province, this project is expected an green oasis emerging from the red sand.

The core ideas are simulating natural shape of desert sand dunes move ment. Using local plants for landscape and local materials for facade design, we tend to express our concern about environmental preservation and maintaining original beauty of the site.

Hillside bungallow

Bungalows' form was designed with steep roof to intently remind of the slope terrain they are placed. Material combination between bare concrete and pre fabricated wall panels made of local desert red sand created unique look and made these structures architecturally harmonious.

Quantity : 7 units of quadra bungalows. Area : 56m2 per bungalow,.

lake view villa

Characterized by their direct view to the lake, these villas have 2 ways of ap proaching: by boat and by road. Using the same combination of local material, Lake view villas were created with curves to reflect the shape of lake where they were located.

Quantity : 27 villas. Area : 112m2 per villa
