The Salt community is an important part of the European Xploit project, running from 2010 to 2013. The Xploit project is very different from “normal” European projects, usually focusing on a specific challenge or objective. Xploit is a project focusing on the capacity of the community to “exploit” European lifelong learning resources, on its way to becoming a learning community. Therefore Xploit is a project focusing on supporting a number of new initiatives like circles in the water... The very presence of the Xploit project in the Salt community has already, and will continue to, give rise to a number of new lifelong learning initiatives, as illustrated below. Jan Gejel, Xploit coordinator, June 2011
Creation of new European lifelong learning projects involving the Salt community
Training of community staff in European cooperation
Computer Clubhouse for young people
Study visits for teachers and other educational resources
Traineeships for students in other countries
Access to large European networks
Salt Laboratory of Inclusion initiatives also linked to a possible Salt Community Centre for lifelong learning
Development of new collaboration infrastructures between institutions and stakeholders in Salt
