Onset Void Immersed in the vague sun, subdued by arcane matters, Stuck in thresholds of being: my dying face glitches at the screen. Thoughts fold to the cover of countless references.

Male You know you care about someone when you want to meander malls with her and your sister, in Murfreesboro, TN day after Christmas! An occasion you would not think required a bow tie... I wish I could tie my own ties. She could. She owns a lot of things, not just my dreams.

Lane Shift I trust you, charismatic suit. And your ‘fun size’ Halloween bag of M&M’s not even peanut—worth $147,000. For a bag of laundry? Rumble Strip! In midst of placid presence. Two deer shred down serene, lucent terrain in mint retrofit Radio Flyers. One buck, one doe. Niki Minaj! Discarded meatloaf, “thirsty?” A crime equalized by deleting a man’s only good hands. Home made ketchup. Blood!

Trigger Not again. Too imminent loiters the memory of death at my Dad’s. Who’s it now I could not keep from departure? Too close to hurt—for it to hurt. No more custom baseball bats, tricks to alluring any more Karissa Phillipses, or suitcases of VHS porn. My fault? As Emily’s tight lids fracture—a leak. Still—I see silence. Reoccurance. A stagnant moment. Too forgotten to see beyond my obstruction.
