Adventures of the great south east begin with four young men, and sometimes
Sometimes the distinction between night and day becomes foggy, figuritively as
an extra man and or woman. These young people gather their cameras and associated accessories and drive sometimes aimlessly - up and down the M1 or even the M3, hoping for the best. They look for places most don’t see, go, or even know about, and they photograph them. Mostly during the quiet and sneaky night, but often during daybreak also.
well as literally, in that tricks that aren’t really tricks are employed to make night appear as day. These images offer an interesting perspective due to the way the moonlight falls on the landscape. If there is any... Fellow tripper, Jacob, approached me one Thursday night and said to me, “Tom, we should go shooting tonight or tomorrow night, or something...” And I said to him, “Tonight! Let’s go tonight. Mt. Warning, let’s go”
So we set off on another classic Tripper adventure, though the lite version see as though it was just us. The trip wasn’t out of the ordinary - we discussed girlfriends, boyfriends, the headlines, etc., played some tunes on the transistor radio... We finally arrived at the foot of the mount where we found an abundance of vehicles and persons. This was concerning at first but then we thought, “Hey - we’ll have company!” We soon discovered that we were grossly underprepared for the task that lay before us: a 4.6 kilometre trek up the side of the peak - part of which was actual climbing. I didn’t even bother to attach my camera strap or bring my tripod’s bag. We never expect to need bottled water or camel packs. So we had nothing. Before we left
I asked Jacob, “Steel-capped boots or my Nikes?” He answered my question with a question by querying, “What do you always wear?” So I was wearing bloody boots. Tell you what, they get heavy and after dragging my feet up a ~1000 metre high pile of rock, my dogs were barking. There was an excess of persons at the top and many sported smart phones with the intention of photographing the imminent sunrise. The worst part was that we had to get back down to get home. And all we had to drink was hot V energy drink waiting in the car. It was actually good due to the circumstances though so heh April 28 2004

Even though we’re all aware of Earth’s rotations and how it affects time, sunlight, moon, and furthermore our bedtimes and wake times, for the most part the majority of people seem to ignore to a degree certain facts. For example, just because you’re going to bed at such a time does not mean everyone else is, will, or has. I want to challenge people’s preconceptions regarding sleep cycles and the socially nominated norm. March 25 2013 / March 30 2013
