Thomas Hoblyn Landscape and Garden Design
After graduating from the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, I worked with designers Dan Pearson and Christopher Bradley-Hole before setting up my own practice in 2002. My previous career in agriculture and rural upbringing make for a strong affinity with the landscape and thorough understanding of nature. Training at Kew allowed me to study plants globally, further expanding my plant knowledge, and is of great benefit in the creation of exciting and often low maintenance planting schemes. Ably assisted by my small team of landscape architects, we design small and large schemes, solely or as part of a design team for residential and commercial projects.

Initial meetings and discussions form the basis of the brief, followed by site analysis, research, images and sketches to fully understand the project. A surveyor is commissioned for a topographic survey, essential for accurate and quantifiable design.

The expansion of remaining woodland using many different varieties of native Oaks will take place to the north east , north and north west however to the south side, Holly Walk will be restored to include the introduction of holly trees to the south of the path as well as different cherry varieties to the north. To the north-west of the bank tan evergreen shrubbery or optional maze with internal paths formally clipped, to form series of destinations or chambers will soften the transition between the wild flower meadow and woodland whilst shielding Jane's Cottage track from the pathways and gardens below.

Overall a central meadow of wild-flower and seasonal bulbs will be surrounded by a new path arrangement designed to promote the existing framework of trees and shrubs. The bank will provide strong colour to the entire area through the seasons acting as an inspiring backdrop to the larger parkland.

To restore Fish Pond to a thriving ecosystem and a destination for visitors. To clear views between the Main Residence and Fish Pond/the Isis Sculpture. To create a destination and venue for events hosted at Hillersdon House.

The island will be reinstated, in a new form, to mirror the shape of Isis, whose sculpture will be wading in the island shallows American Opposite Isis, at the eastern end, will sitswamp a
