Biography of Thomas McCorry
Thomas McCorry had a 20-year career with Constellation Brands, a renowned global producer of well-known beer, wine, and spirits brands such as Corona, Modelo, Meomi, Robert Mondavi, Casa Noble, Mi Campo, and Svedka. Over his tenure with the company, McCorry progressively took on leadership responsibilities across various financial functions, including Accounting and Controls, Operational Finance, Controllership, Business Partnership, Strategy, and overall financial leadership.
Throughout his time at Constellation Brands, McCorry delivered consistent business results in each position he held His expertise spanned leadership, strategic planning, financial planning and analysis, risk management, financial controls, process
improvement, coaching and mentoring, accounting (US GAAP), cost savings, messaging and storyboarding, valuations and modeling, and revenue management.
A Bespoke Career with Constellation Brands
VP of Global Accounting
McCorry joined Constellation Brands in 2004 as a Director and was later promoted to Vice President of Global Accounting. He managed the global consolidated accounting close process for the $3.6 billion publicly traded company in this role. His efforts focused on improving operational efficiency, reducing the time to close by eight days, and enhancing the quality of financial reporting He also played a pivotal role in developing global cash flow reporting processes and consolidating multi-currency statements, which helped reduce preparation time by 10 days.
McCorry’s leadership extended to research and advising on complex transactions such as acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and derivative instruments. His work in these areas significantly reduced the company ’ s reliance on external consultants. He also led fair value purchase price allocations for several large-scale acquisitions and authored global accounting policies and procedures that standardized financial processes across various divisions. McCorry further streamlined operations by centralizing global intercompany transaction processing, eliminating errors, and improving processing times. In 2012, McCorry transitioned to Vice President of FP&A – Wine & Spirits, where he was responsible for directing strategic and annual planning for the U.S. Wines & Spirits business, which generated $2.7 billion in profit. Two years later, he accepted the
position of Vice President of Commercial Finance – Wine & Spirits, a role he held for three years. During this time, McCorry significantly improved financial planning and operational efficiency
He was instrumental in developing market-level financial and operating plans designed to achieve revenue growth, market share expansion, optimal brand mix, and margin improvements One of his key achievements was centralizing $150 million of non-price investments and implementing a zero-based budgeting process, which provided greater visibility and alignment with commercial priorities. This initiative led to a substantial return on investment.
Additionally, McCorry introduced innovative financial metrics, aligning sales performance with company financial results. He also implemented a cloud-based forecasting solution that integrated regional sales data, S&OP data, and historical trends, leading to more accurate forecasts. His leadership in restructuring the sales finance organization created a shared services model, supporting organic growth and acquisitions without increasing headcount.

Senior VP, CFO, Beer Division
From 2021 until late 2023, McCorry served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Constellation Brands’ Beer Division, an $8 billion revenue business with nearly $3 billion in profit. In this role, McCorry led initiatives that optimized capital investment and operational efficiency. He reduced planned capacity investments by $1 5 billion (30%) over three years by aligning commercial demand, supply planning, and engineering efforts His work improved decision-making and governance over the capital planning and approval processes, reducing capital expenditures and a 30 to 40 basis points improvement in structural margins.
Beyond financial performance, McCorry strengthened cross-border collaboration within the finance organization. He introduced the company ’ s first expatriate program, significantly enhancing employee engagement and development This program resulted in an 8-point increase in engagement scores, reduced turnover, and lowered recruiting costs.
