The Old Man and The Sea



There was an old man named Santiago who wasn’t very wealthy and had a hard time catching fish. Until one day he got up earlier and went out farther than usual.

Sitting in his boat out in the deep blue ocean he got a big bite and knew it was a big fish. Santiago didn’t want to miss out on such a big opportunity so he tried to catch it. Santiago was an old man and wasn’t strong enough to pull it in so the hook was stuck in the fish and it was pulling him around.



Santiago resorted to last thing he could think of. He pulled the fish in as far as he could by using all of his strength and then harpooned the fish. The fish was to big to put on the boat so he tied it to the side of the boat.



As Santiago was rowing home he was thinking about how much he wishes his friend Manolin was with him because Manolin would be proud of him.



The suddenly he was attacked by sharks. As he was trying to fend of the sharks they ate part of his fish. Santiago was very courageous and used everything on the boat he could including the oars to fend of the sharks.



Then when he ended up at home everyone looked for him and couldn’t find him. Except for Manolin he knew where he was.



Santiago was so tired he fell asleep as soon as he got home but then Manolin walked in and they talked about how they will fish together again and Manolin will be his luck.



Santiago was right Manolin was proud that he caught the big fish and wished he was there to see it. Then they both lived happily fishing together.
