The DS 3 Crossback range has been revised, with the trim levels renamed to better reflect the luxury chicness of the brand. Names like Prestige and Ultra Prestige are ushered out, and in come Bastille and Rivoli instead, named after upmarket districts in Paris. Both prices and equipment levels remain the same as before, and there’s even an additional diesel model added to the line-up. The DS 3 Crossback Bastille BlueHDi 110 is a new addition priced at £27,000, joining the marginally pricier Performance Line edition at £27,400. Pure electric E-Tense versions of the DS 3 Crossback are also available in Bastille, Rivoli, Performance Line and Performance Line Plus versions, with prices beginning at £31,500 for the Bastille, and rising to £38,600 for the Rivoli. The updated model range is available to order now from DS Stores.
GENESIS
Arguably one of the prettiest models in the Genesis line-up, the new G70 Shooting Brake is now available to order with prices starting at £37,600 for the Premium Line, £40,250 buys the Luxury Line and £41,430 gets you the most expensive Sport Line edition at £41,430. All three versions come equipped with a 197bhp 2.2-litre diesel engine mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, with drive transmitted to the rear wheels. CO2 emissions range from 175 to 182g/km, depending on version, with fuel economy of 40.7 to 41.8mpg. The transformation from four-door saloon to shapely Shooting Brake costs between £1,400 (Sport Edition) to £1,740 (Premium Line and Luxury Line). All versions of the G70 Shooting Brake come generously equipped, with LED headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, electric front seats, 40:20:40 split/folding rear seats, adaptive cruise control, a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay fitted as standard. Luxury Line models gain leather upholstery, a heated steering wheel and front seats and electronically controlled suspension. Sport Line versions are depicted by a dark mesh front grille and exterior detailing, larger 19-inch alloy wheels, sports pedals and a limited slip differential. The new G70 Shooting Brake is available to order now, with first deliveries expected in the new year.
MERCEDES-BENZ
Just weeks after the first new W206 C-Class models arrived on UK shores, Mercedes-Benz has expanded the line-up with the additional of C 300 e plug-in hybrid editions, in both saloon and estate bodystyles. Sold in AMG Line, AMG Line Premium and AMG Line Premium Plus versions, prices start at £44,895, which represents a price premium of £2,730 over a comparable C 220 d model. CO2 emissions are as low as 13g/km on saloon models, with estates emitting 15g/km. The drivetrain combines a 201bhp 1999cc turbocharged petrol engine with a 127bhp (95kW) electric motor, and nine-speed automatic transmission. With a zero-emissions driving range of 67 to 68 miles on saloons and 65 for the estates, the C 300 e models are eligible for a 7% benefit-in-kind company car tax rating, which is considerably lower than the 28% that the C 220 d is rated at. While largely academic, the combined fuel economy figure for the saloon is 470.8mpg, while the estate manages 403.6mpg in optimum conditions, with both electric and diesel drivetrain usage maximised. The new plug-in hybrid C-Class range can be ordered now from Mercedes-Benz retailers, with first deliveries expected in the spring. A diesel plug-in hybrid drivetrain will additionally join the C-Class range shortly.
