So as part of our effort to improve the long haul holiday experience, we are introducing a new plane into our fleet. From May 2013, we will be flying the Thomson 787 Dreamliner to Mexico and Florida – setting a new standard in long haul flying along the way. You’ll have the legroom – up to 34 inches in Economy Club and 38 inches in Premium Club – and in-flight experience to give you the quality time that you need. Within the next few pages, you will read about some of the other improvements we have made to our long haul holidays, our plans for the future and some of the incredible places around the world that we can take you. THOMSON 787 dreamliner A Smooth Solution The 787 is fitted with state-of-the-art turbulence sensors, which means you can leave the travel sickness pills at home.
New Horizons Make room for some new stamps in your passport. The 787 can fly about 8,000 miles without stopping, which means it can go direct to destinations other planes can’t reach.
Plug In Not only can you watch movies from your iPod on your seatback TV, but you’ll be able to plug in your digital camera and start shortlisting your favourite snaps.
Room Overhead Even at its lowest point, the Dreamliner cabin is over 6-foot high, so there’s a real sense of space.
Perfectly Pitched Seats Travel in Economy Club and you’ll get up to a 33” or 34” seat pitch – that’s more legroom in economy than BA, Virgin Atlantic, bmi and Monarch*. Upgrade to Premium Club and you get up to 38”, putting us on a par with industry heavyweights, BA and Virgin.

Super-fast Move over, Lewis Hamilton. The 787 flies at Mach 0.85 – that’s the equivalent to 640 miles per hour – about three times faster than a Formula 1 car at full throttle.
A Quieter Flight The Dreamliner will generate 60 per cent less noise than standard planes during take-off and landing. It’ll be quieter in the air, too.
More Oxygen The Dreamliner’s altered cabin pressure allows more oxygen to be absorbed into your blood, so you’ll leave the plane feeling fresher.
Window On The World The 787’s windows are about three times the size of those on your average aeroplane. Plus, the seats have been carefully positioned, so wherever you’re sitting, you’ll get a view of the horizon.

So, Florida and Mexico are first in line for the 787 Dreamliner – but which one gets your vote? Read on for the lowdown on two of our best-loved destinations…
Mexico Top beaches, ancient sites and got-it-all resorts Mexico’s Caribbean Coast knows how to please. Along the Yucatan peninsula you’ve got purpose-built resorts, tropical beaches, and just about every watersport going. In terms of places to stay, Cancun is the frontrunner. The main focal point is the Hotel Zone – an
18-kilometre-long island with the Caribbean Sea on one side and a lagoon on the other. This lively strip is packed with malls, golf courses, and plenty of bars and clubs. An hour or so down the coast, Playa del Carmen is a compact version of Cancun. Most of the restaurants and bars are along Fifth Avenue, which runs parallel to the beach. Want to escape the crowds? Head further south to Playacar.

Florida Theme parks, mega malls and national parks Florida is the world leader when it comes to theme parks. There are no less than 15, including 6 Disney creations and other household names like Universal Studios and SeaWorld. White-knuckle rides are only one side of the coin, though. Florida’s other calling cards include city-sized malls, world-class golf courses and more restaurants per head than any other state.
Pierce the tourist bubble, meanwhile, and you’ll discover national parks, forests, and swamplands teeming with wildlife. Then there are the beaches.
