CCA RODEO NEWS Canadian Cowboys Association Box 1027 Regina, SK S4P 3B2
THE CCA The Canadian Cowboys Association (CCA) is the largest semipro rodeo association in Canada. The CCA office is located in Regina SK. and is governed by a board of directors and has input from representatives in each major event including the stock contractors and judges. The CCA proudly supports youth and education and offers a scholarship to a cowboy and cowgirl in secondary school. The CCA also provides free memberships to the finalists in all seven events in High School rodeo. The CCA is committed to and invites input on programs to recruit youth to rodeo. The CCA annuallysanctions over 60 rodeos in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Alberta and Ontario. The level of competition is outstanding with rough stock scores and timed event runs as good as any level of rodeo anywhere. Many CCA contestants have made it to the Canadian Finals Rodeo and the National Finals and some of our CCA competitors are young enough to make the National High School Finals. The CCA was founded in 1963 with 60 members and has grown to over 900 members across Canada. The membership segment includes a full range of contestants and ages. The CCA is made up of men and women working in the corporate world managing businesses, teachers, nurses and of course ranchers and fulltime cowboys, not to mention whole families that rodeo and travel up and down the road all year. CCA members are part of the community involved in many local boards and charities. The CCA also supports Novice and Junior events and youth are an important part of the associations future. It is estimated that rodeo attracts 30 million fans across North America and attendance at CCA rodeos has been estimated at over 200,000. The CCA’s mission is to promote the sport of rodeo and is committed to attracting new cowboys and cowgirls, increase spectators and attract the media to the tradition and heritage of the sport and the families that make up the CCA. Local rodeo committees organize the CCA sanctioned rodeos across Canada. Most are run by a very dedicated group of volunteers and assisted by equally dedicated stock contractors that work hard to produce the events and raise funds for local community projects that benefit all people. In 2005 the CCA Finals were moved to Regina SK as part of the Western Canadian Agribition. The CCA is proud to be involved with Agribition now in our eighth year headlining one the biggest cattle and agricultural shows in North America. We look forward to another outstanding rodeo with you.
CONGRATULATIONS Congratulations to the contestants who have made the CCA Finals and all contestants who worked so hard competing all year. We look forward to seeing and talking with as many of you as possible at the Finals From the CCA office, Mark, Crystal, Shauna,

LOOK FOR US AT: www.ontariorodeo.com ROYAL CANADIAN RIDING ACADEMY BROUGHT TO LIFE BY RAM RODEO TOUR RAM Rodeo Tour brought the Royal Canadian Riding Academy to life with 3 great days of rodeo. The sponsors supported the final event in full efforts. McIver Chrysler helped promote the event while on site Lone Star Texas Grill ran the Saloon with the Lone Star girls serving Laker Beer and Alberta Premium Rye all weekend long. The Lone Star Saloon featured video playbacks of the rodeo action as well as the 2012 Calgary Stampede while the fans met and partied with the cowboys. The Famous Lone Star Tortilla Chips were served ,raising monies for Camp Bucko (Ont. Children’s burn camp) The atmosphere was great. The competition was tremendous with the competitors going head to head through 3 shows. Perhaps the best roping events we have seen all year. The ground at Royal Canadian Riding Academy was perfect and the bucking stock was outstanding, Joe Shaw and Stuart Pletcher brought a great pen of stock and brought the crowds to their feet Saturday with their Eliminator pen putting on a show, Congratulations to the Champions. See www.ontariorodeo.com for full results Thank you to all the Cowboys and Cowgirls that have made this the most successful year in our 15 year history. We look forward to an even better 2013. The Toronto Royal Fair will take place November 4th as our best go against the best from the west.

NOTICE: The CCA Office is going to be switching to Direct Deposit rather than physical cheques for the Rodeo Payout. In order to accomplish this we need to collect banking information from all of our members. We will require all competing members to send us a VOID Cheque. They can do this 2 ways….by mail or by giving a VOID cheque to the Rodeo Secretary at a Rodeo when they pay their entrée fees. The secretaries will have a spreadsheet that they will fill out once the member gives the secretary the VOID cheque to hand in to the Office. The Office will keep this VOID cheque on file and directly deposit winnings from every rodeo.

CANADIAN COWBOYS ASSOCIATION and COWTOWN PARTNER FOR 2012 CCA FINALS REGISTRATION Cowtown has graciously offered up their place of business for this yearʼs finals registration. Registration will be upstairs, and they will be providing snacks and refreshments as well as a gift certificate and special in store discounts on specified merchandise for contestants.
