who WE ARE
Co-founders Gwen Weinberg & Anita Nadelson's friendship began in the hills of Tuscany while studying on a college program abroad. They stayed in touch for the next decade, through Gwen's move from Philadelphia to the west coast and Anita's years of working and traveling around the world, eventually coming back together in Seattle. The two took advantage of the city's nurturing entrepreneurial culture and combined their skills -- Gwen's at making things and Anita's at selling them -- to create Three by Three Seattle.

Gwen exhibited the potential of a career in industrial design from a very young age, much preferring scissors, construction paper and glue to all other toys. Born in Philadelphia and now living in Seattle and Lisbon, Portugal, Gwen received informal training in art and design at a few universities on both US coasts after obtaining an undergraduate degree in psychology and art history from University of Pennsylvania. She now considers it a gift for her own design vision to have not been boxed into one formal sensibility in her training; from the start of her career, beginning as a jeweler, metalsmith and bookbinder, Gwen’s designs have always gone beyond the obvious, standard solution, from her innovative use of materials, to her unexpected proportions, to her concepts that forge entirely new product categories. Currently, Gwen is happy to be re-focussing on paper goods, returning not only to her early design years’ bookbinding roots, but going all the way back to one of her earliest childhood pleasures.

Anita always wanted to run her own business. Her entrepreneurial spirit appeared at a young age, selling Bubble Yum on the playground in her hometown of Seattle. After earning a history degree from Connecticut College, she spent several years traveling the world and working in Paris, Florence, and New York. Both her business acumen and her love of travel have rubbed off on her three children, who have enjoyed several successful lemonade stands and schoolyard businesses. Anita has integrated the lessons learned from her passions and her varied work history into her business philosophy: have patience, take advantage of any opportunities that arise, treat everyone respectfully, and never stop innovating. She believes this code of ethics and transparency has cemented Three by Three Seattle’s reputation for quality, customer service, and integrity.

hitched™ LINKED PHOTO CLIPS Three by Three Seattle is pleased to present their newest photo display concept - hitched™ linked photo clips! This dynamic display solution works beautifully in dorms, apartments, homes, and offices. Connected clips easily attach to photos to form a chain, a curtain, or hang individually, taking collections from shoebox to gallery-worthy installation. Dual-sided geometric shapes and sleek finishes are visually interesting without detracting from the pictures they securely hold. “I wanted to come up with a way to link pieces of art together without damaging them,” says designer Ellen Thomson. “I started thinking about jewelry and how it’s linked. The shape, which is called a vesica piscis, was a natural fit for this project - it’s beautiful, but also very functional and is small enough that it doesn’t get in the way of showing off pieces.” hitched™ is available in gold, silver, pewter, and rose gold. ###
NINYO™ The introduction of Three by Three Seattle’s enameled metal NINYO™ collection is an exciting step into the world of high-end design. NINYO’s form-forward sensibility is steeped in a dreamy, jewel-tone aesthetic that makes each handmade piece distinctly collectible. Whether used as serving trays for special occasions, spotlighted as a centerpiece, or displayed in a living room to add a touch of refined decor, NINYO’s flawless collaboration between arresting visual and thoughtful design is unparalleled. “While I aimed to keep the NINYO collection unified, I also wanted each piece to stand alone,” says designer Ellen Thomson. “I chose sumptuous colors that draw your eye and keep you looking. The natural nesting of the three shapes inspired the name NINYO, which phonetically translates to “nest” (ninho) in Portuguese.” NINYO is available in white, violet, citrus, and sea blue colorways. cliffHANGER™ VERTICAL HANGER CONNECTORS Three by Three Seattle is pleased to introduce their first foray into wardrobe organization: cliffHANGER™ vertical hanger connectors! These nifty connectors cascade hangers, consolidate closets, and curate outfits, allowing easy clothing coordination and vertical storage. The cast metal circles link up to 5 clothing hangers to help declutter and maximize limited closet space while the gold, copper, and chrome finishes add a subtle, unexpected sheen. “I DIY’d my own hanger extenders at home. I loved the concept but they were fragile,” says Head Designer Gwen Weinberg. “I wanted a refined, functional, strong, and pretty version, so I developed the cliffHANGER. It’s universal, it can fit hangers of any material, whether they’re wood, plastic, or metal. It works especially well where space is at a premium.” Made of solid cast metal, cliffHANGER comes in a pack of 4 and is available in gold, copper, and chrome finishes. ###
stacking bin™ SETS Three by Three Seattle’s popular stacking bin sets are getting a makeover! Striped, polka dot, and sleek grey interiors are paired with vibrant colors to create bold new combinations perfect for organizing. Stacked high or low, these new stacking bin sets are guaranteed to make organizing drawers and desktops a dream. “Our stacking bin sets continue to be among our best-selling products,” says CEO Anita Nadelson, “so we decided to see what we could do to make them even more exciting and playful. We want our customers’ drawers and desktops to pop! We also made the decision to offer budget-friendly grab-and-go sets to fit smaller drawers or be paired up for larger spaces.” Bins are available in curated sets of 3 and 5, and come in 1 and 2 inch depths. ###

The company’s magnetic strip bulletin board design introduced the magnet board category as it’s known today. They moved on to revamp the whiteboard industry with fresh, alternative dry-erase surfaces, including bamboo, glass, silicone, stainless, and brass. Their current line consists of dry-erase, chalk, and magnet boards, bent plywood designs, desk and wall organizers, hooks, desktop stationery, photo displays, decorative boxes, and magnets. The design team also creates custom promotional products for a broad range of clients.
