ESSENTIAL OIL SAFETY
Generally speaking, essential oils are powerful, effective & very safe. Here are a few guidelines to help you get started.
Some oils are photosensitive, meaning they may react with sunlight. Lemon, Lime, Grapefruit, Orange, Bergamot, Tangerine, Peace & Calming, Stress Away, Citrus Fresh, Gentle Baby & Joy are some of YL’s popular oils that cause photosensitivity. Do not apply these to skin that will receive direct sunlight.
Essential oils should be stored with lids on tight, away from heat & direct sunlight.
Less is more! You can always add another drop, so start slow, whether you’re using oils topically, aromatically, or internally.
Dilute oils when using with small children & infants (unless they are pre-diluted like the KidScents oils). The Feet are a great place to use oils with little ones.
Some oils may be irritating to the skin. If irritation occurs, immediately apply V-6 Vegetable Oil Complex or pure vegetable oil to the affected area to dilute.
If eye contact occurs, do not flush with water, but rather apply a carrier oil to dilute.
Do not put essential oils in eyes, ears, nose, or other areas with sensitive skin.
WHAT ARE CARRIER OILS?
A carrier oil is a vegetable oil that can be used to dilute essential oils. Carrier oils ensure that essential oils applied topically are comfortable.

LEMON
Lemon is one of the top essential oils that you will be glad to have in your home for dozens of household & personal care uses. Diffuse lemon oil to purify the air & fill the air with a happy aroma. Contains the component d-limonene - Google it! Powerful for cleaning almost everything (especially those gooey-hard to get off type things).
LAVENDER
Lavender is a favourite & is extremely versatile. Diffuse at bedtime as its aroma has a calming effect & can help promote restful sleep. It’s great for all ages – from tiny new babies to the elderly. One of our favourites for cuts, burns, scrapes or scars.
PEPPERMINT
Peppermint has a fresh, energizing aroma that is perfect to inhale before a workout, before taking a test, or on road trips – any time a boosted performance is desired. Inhale peppermint oil before a meal & you may find you feel like eating less. Great for any tummy trouble.
FRANKINCENSE
Frankincense was one of the gifts given to Jesus, & is a very powerful oil fit for a king. Diffuse or inhale to promote a feeling of meditation & a prayerful atmosphere. PANAWAY
Panaway contains peppermint, wintergreen, clove & helichrysum essential oils. Peppermint is naturally high in menthol, wintergreen contains methyl salicylate, clove contains eugenol & helichrysum contains alpha-pinene. Look up these powerful natural compounds!

COPAIBA
Copaiba is very high in some extremely powerful compounds, including betacaryophyllene, alpha-humulene. Very soft fragrance for such a powerful oil.
R.C.
R.C. contains a variety of eucalyptus oils & is great to diffuse to provide a stimulating, soothing aroma that especially during cold season. This is great for coughs and colds. Apply to the chest for an adult or feet for a small child.
THIEVES
Thieves is a blend of cinnamon bark, rosemary, clove, lemon, & eucalyptus oils. It was inspired by the legend of four thieves in France who used these herbs while robbing the dead & dying. Diffuse at home to help purify the air. Great oil for coughs and colds and the basis for our Thieves infused line of personal care & cleaning products.
PURIFICATION
Purification is a blend of lemongrass, citronella, myrtle, rosemary & tea tree oils with plenty of uses around the home. Diffuse to deodorize unpleasant odors in the air... Cooking smells, paint or chemicals, bathroom, litter box, all things smelly. Also a great oil to carry with you when venturing out doors to keep pests at bay.
DIGIZE

In Jan/Feb 2019, we challenged our community to a 30 day Ningxia Red Challenge.
