The urbanization spreads its hands further and further day by day, and along with this broadening, encourages or imposes, it leads to all of its residents. Since then, we start taking about the urbanization of all kinds possible, including infrastructures, furnitures, lifestyle and more than anything, the feelings. whether people come here or were born here, and especially among young people, they all have their lives framed in the big city scope, ironically created by themselves.

If youth is the most precious and beautiful period in one’s life, there is no difference between youth of young people living in big cities and elsewhere. One will always find during its youthful days one time or another having the power of passion, the fire of dream, the desire of success and the unexpected courage for change and goodwill.

Those feelings are only stronger in the big cities framework where hopes are told to blossom and ambitions are lead to begin. With their youthful energy and talent, young people living in big cities have their daily life rushing, digging, seeking for opportunities, success and freedom. only here on the main road of achievement in big cities, young people can find all conditions to let them reach their long - waited freedom. It is the freedom of expressing themselves, of chasing after their dreams, of discovering everything around them, and of being recognized as who they are and how they have been trying.

However, the trade-off is never easy. Trapped in their own freedom, or to be more accurate, in their own goal of being free and successful, young people cannot avoid the bitterness of youth. Because youth does not only mean positive spirit, but also lack of knowledge, the weakness of experiences and therefore the feeling of loss, of loneliness, of unlimited wonders. Walking forth and back all kinds of crossroads in the big cities and eventually in their mind, young people spend their time thinking, striving, rumbling, searching for something in a daily rhythm.

...Somehow, they are rolled away, suffocating in this urban flow. They stand the chaos in a dry dreadful silence and endurance. Those unspoken feelings are gradually hidden bellow the fancy side of the urban life and the busy eventful style in big cities. That is what we call the urban exhaustion. It is an urban disease of hyper generation on their long and determined journey...

the C H A O S URBAN Rushing must be the local speciality in big cities, and which without any kind of planning. Everyday, at the same time, at the same places, people get down on the street, try to hold their breath while rushing everywhere they can, from public transport to coffee shop, from inside the house to outside at their workplaces, from the moment they wake up till the second they go to bed late that day, and all of this not necessarily for a specific reason. The cities are crowded but they do not really see anybody. In their rushing mind, everything and everyone seem to be just some fading smudges that accidentally happen in this whole chaos called urban life.

Youth also means lack of knowledge and experience, therefore it is unavoidable to be suffered from feelings of loss, lonelinness and wonders. Not only is it a representation of how the mind of young people living within an abounding network environment works, but how it is also a form of structure and intangible maps that leads them to continuously wander about the things they do. 7. Central to the artist’s work are the themes of remembrance and oblivion, dreaming and sleeping, traces of the past and childhood and dealing with anxiety. Her using yarns to create huge webs is a source of my fabric transformation.

URBAN

The concentration of population in the big cities is the natural cause that urban communities are born and networks are made. Living within, young people are forced to join in whether they want to be part of it or not, for the first purpose of surviving, and further, of succeeding. With all kinds of modern supports, there is nothing that grows faster than human networks which link a person to an another, crosses therefore a million of fates.

COMMUNITYNETWORK Unintentionally trapped in this coburg, young people often have to stand the feelings of being dragged along, imprisoned in those crossing lines with nothing better than a loosen power of control and the loneliness which follows. How irony it is when one freedom must be paid by an another, but living in big cities does not allow them to choose. Their only choice is by consequence to be the master of their own connections, and maybe further, the master of their own destiny...

THE SH APE I choose oversized shape for my garments to represent the contemporary urban city that is described as harsh, noisy, chaotic and stuffy. The shoulder lines are also dropped to give the effect. As people suffer the stress it brings, I apply the sleevelike belt to express this exhausting feeling.

ASYMmETRY

The asymmetry aspect and irregular details are applied for the garments to descibe the chaotic city and sometimes-the mental breakdown of the citizens.

SLEEVE A P P L I C AT I O N S

3 long pipes are drapped at the hem of the dress

The urban human network which links people to another. Hands connecting hands are represented by sleeves applications. In this case, sleeves are used as symbols of hands to describe the urban human network.

Multi-functional belt

The belt is another application of the sleeves. It is tied by two of its endings which look like pipes. Since spring and summer in Europe is pretty cool, the belt could turn out to be a cape to keep warm, especially for the afternoon or evening usage.

Thick and stiff fabric are used since they are able to keep oversized shape.The grey-textured kind of fabrics are chosen to express the harsh of the urban life. It is the representation of the heavy, stuffy air that people in urban city have to suffer everyday. The unwoven has texture like a web network is used for fabric transformation. Besides, some cotton fibers are also needed to to the emroidery.
