Expanding the existing canal becomes the riverway approach for pottery boats Combining the new residential area creates a ceramic road linking it from the old village Opening the night market provides night-time sightseeing for travelers wishing to stay overnight

BOUNDARY TRADITIONAL AND MODERN PAST AND FUTURE From the De street - the big road leading to Bat Trang, visitors can see the building behind the Bat Trang lake. On the one side is the old village with the red tile roof, the other is the industrial area with modern architecture. The constructure as the boundary between the old architecture and the morden architecture. Harmonization and transmission are essential.

CERAMICS KILN
Nowaday, the production method is industrialized, gas kiln appear to replace traditional kilns such as ovens kiln, frogs kiln... People no longer see these images in the Bat Trang Pottery village. The display space in building reproduces familiar images to remind the next generation of the past.

CONFERENCE HOTEL 5th Year Project

FUNCTION OF THE BUILDING COMBINATE OF CONFERENCE AND HOTEL. The block include 23 floors and 2 basements. Located in a special position - center of ho chi minh city. It is place of both interference between traditional architecture and modern building. One side is near Ben Thanh market that was built in 1912 with Indochinese architecture, the one of the high-rise buildings. Therefore, design have to balance between old and new architecture. The concept is connect beetwen traditional architecture and modern architecture.

WORKER HOUSING APARTMENT 3th Year Project
Location: An Duong Vuong street, Binh Tan District, Ho Chi Minh City Area : 7.800m2 The apartment is located in center of a residential area. The position is quite advantage because of closing service function. However, it is near by a light industrial factories. public space has been limited. The facade is diagonally cut to expand the view help to solve problem that the outside views is limited by the beside apartment and factory. Axis of project be rotated by 35 degrees to get wind southeast and southwest. The gaps help natural ventilation for all apartments and take advantage of the free space as public space. The buffer space will limite solar radiation directly into the apartment. Balconies offer many sides to expand outside views for each flat.

Gaps beetwen floors like a huge window. it is not only natural ventilation and lighting but also expend outside view. this is connected space between people and surrounding building.
The apartment look like one block form but in the fact, it includes 4 blocks linked together. each block has separate elevator system. this created privacy in needed for people but still connect for all apartment

LIBERTY CENTRAL SAI GON RIVERSIDE HOTEL Interior Project
Location: Ton Duc Thang Street, Ben Nghe, 1 District, Ho Chi Minh City Area : 7.800m2 Hotels is located near the saigon river. Ceiling details is inspired from image of field, using curved lines re-mind the image of a river, the dominant color tone is brown create a warm and close to viet nam tradi-tional architecture.

This project is in a special location, oppositing with duc ba church that represent for saigon. So, construction have to harmony on surrouding buildings. This concept is create a construction change seasonally. It means when season changes, the construction will change. Example, normally we can’t see building’s shape because covering structure is made by glass material, but in rain season we can see cube shape.

By collecting of characteristics of culture in Saigon then showing up them in our project, we would make travelers have a new experienced, a phenomenon of “Dèjá vu” in each space in our building, which shows “eerie but familiar”.

GAC MA ISLAND MARTYRS MONUMENT
LOCATION The land is located in the park north of Tran Phu street in Vinh Tho ward, Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa. The park has a view of the sea, which connects the sea and land. It is the lung of the city, close to the population and the famous tourist resort. So this can be considered as the ideal place to attract people. Gao Ma Island is located to the southeast of the site. The building is a symbol of national sovereignty. Remind people about the tradition of patriotism and national pride
CONCEPT The heart of the work is the pillar as a symbol of the country, surrounded by 64 stones symbolizing the 64 soldiers who died on the East Coast.
The state of the structure changes depending on the sea level. This creates invisible connection to the sea, which is the connection of time and space, island and land, past and present.

Workshop with bartlett university. There are more foreign student from many country. Students is devided by 5 team and each team has different theme. This workshop occurred during a week

concept PROBLEM There are so many function in this apartment, such as living, office, coffee store, book store. The problem is how to ensure privacy but there aren’t exchange space. OBJECT Connecting all of function in apartment. Connecting the apartment with surrounding buildings. Create a exchange space for public activities but still ensure privacy.
SOLVE Creating a link beetwen apartment with nearing apartment by green roof. Using triangle courtyard for exchange space. Improving facade that opposite with triangle courtyard. Adding stair to link apartments. Balcony is relaxing space where people can exchange together.

teamwork experience
Teamwork as easy and smooth as it may sound is not easy. It requires dealing with people of different attitudes, character, personality and sometimes of different cultural background or nationality. Each person should active to give ideal. After the concept is decided by team, depend on advantage of each one to divide accordant mission.

conclusions This workshop give so many knowledge and experience. I have opportunities to meet new friends from other country. I can improve communication skill and teamwork skill. So, i really want to participate activities like that.

sakura workshop japan-asian youth exchange program in science
“Japan-asia youth exchange program in science� is the program for enhancing exchanges between Asia and Japan of the youths who will play a crucial role in the future field of science and technology. The program was holded by Hosei University in Tokyo and Shiyuoka during 7 days. Along with 12 students from many countries such as Taiwan, Malaysia, Japan... , we had many experiences about wooden architecture and Janpan cuture. We dicussed the application of techniques of timber and wood in architecture.
