A small projects that I had chances to work from the beginning with my own concept design, visualization, composition and documentating drawings ...Meifeng observation not only acts as a cliff walk from linked bridge but also functions as iconic tower for the whole Meifeng hillpark. Envelope is built up from corten perforated metal panels in cordination with steel frame structure of linkage bridge at Meifeng hillpark.

A 27-meter high viewing tower is constructed to connect Meifeng elevated walkway to ground-level pedestrian walkway. I designed the tower as a three-dimensional maze in which visitors have views from various altitudes and in various directions. There are two possible routes to the top. The first one is steel staircase covered around the core, the second one is via glass elevator which offers panorama view towards the hillpark. In this concept the desire to have staggered viewing platforms at various heights could be realized easily.

Facade Pattern

In the conceptual stage, naturescape in surrounding could be glimpsed through perforated openings on corten metal panels. In order to offer panoramic views towards Hill park, each panel are cutaways, allowing a variety of illuminated patterns to emerge on the tower facade.
