Hackney CLT proposes an innovative urban transformation model that aims to achieve the ideal urban renewal. Starting in the context of post-pandemic London, the urban renewal processes in London and specifically Hackney wick was taken as a test site for the proposal. We have chosen a former warehouse building (Oslo house), remnant of the previous industrial era of the neighborhood to be our testcase. The old infrastructure will gradually turn into a new lively vibrant Urban centre.

Mixed-use city tower individual work XinYuan Xu Beijing, China

In order to develop economy rapidly, Beijing has entered the final stage of the elimination of villages in the city. More and more villages in the city have disappeared, but no one has asked where the people in the villages have gone and why the culture of villages in the city is so deep-rooted. The project has entered the Shengou village in the CBD of Beijing, creating urban complex in villages in the city. It is hoped that under the promotion of this project, we can correctly understand the integration of rural culture and urban culture, and preserve rural culture not for the sake of stagnation of urban culture, but for the symbiosis of both.

We keep witnessing mass demolishment and evacuation of urban villages in the past decades. The former urban villages and their inhabitants have gradually faded out with the dissipation of traditonal Chinese urban culture. How to help those who live in the urban village to regain their dignity has became an urgent social problem.

Residential building individual work XinYuan Xu Reyhanli, Turkey

Over 5.6 million people have fled Syria since the outbreak of war in 2011, seeking safety in Lebanon, Turkey, Jordan. Turkey alone has accommodated a staggering number of more than 3.6million Syrians over this period of time. At least 90% of these people are living outside of refugee camps in urban or peri-urban areas, We decided to set up a refugee camp in a small town on the Turkish border. Different from previous camps, this camp is specially built for children, women and the elderly. Not only that, but it is also a camp that can grow. The refugees can build their own camps and make them their homes for the next 30 years.

The previous building was used as an office. Since the owner of the building owning hundreds of speical stones from different places of China, he is trying to push change the building into a stone museum. Our primitive space concept started with insert stoneshaped space into building. By broken a complete space and reassemble to construct a special museum space for those speical stones.

Stone has very speical meaning in Chinese Culture. With thousands years generation process, different places can form very different stones with various colors and shapes, which makes stone known as the best nature story teller. In such case, China has a very long stone collection history, lots people are obsessed with having special stones. This is how this design started. Value of Stone

The COVID-19 pandemic has become a global emergency. It spreads mainly among people who are in close contact (within about 2 m) for a prolonged period. Spread happens when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or talks, and droplets from their mouth or nose are launched into the air.Now as communities are reopening and people are in public more often, physical or social distancing has become a critical part of our everyday lives. Social Distancing helps slow the spread of the disease and our project “Social Bubble” aims to further this agenda.
