“IMAGINE”
Experience Texas Charm in Grapevine
Sitting high atop Grapevine’s Main Street on top of the Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau Headquarters is “Imagine,” a winged unicorn, symbolizing action, dreams and wishes that come true. Across many cultures, the unicorn represents imagination flying free and that your dreams can come true. Grapevine is a destination where dreams come true. ”Imagine” is positioned in the stance of taking off, symbolizing the beginning of new dreams and memories in Grapevine.
ELCOME TO GRAPEVINE, the premier destination in North Texas! Our W city is packed with year-round attractions, memory-making events, top-rate shopping and world-class dining. Whether you’re here for our renowned Urban Wine Trail, want to dive into the 8,000-acre Lake Grapevine or are looking to explore our thriving arts community, there has never been a better time to visit. Over the past several years, Grapevine has been experiencing unprecedented growth. In 2018, we broke ground on Grapevine Main, a $105-million public-private development partnership located at the corner of Main Street and Dallas Road. The exciting development will include a boutique hotel, a 42,000-square-foot, five-story rail station and a 38,000-square-foot outdoor plaza. In addition, Stand Rock Hospitality has begun planning a resort and waterpark project estimated to exceed more than $ 330 million upon completion. The
new attraction will further solidify Grapevine’s reputation as a vibrant family-friendly destination. From cover to cover, this guide has everything you need to know to plan your trip. You can also visit GrapevineTexasUSA.com for up-to-theminute information about special events and more. SPRING
WORLD FESTIVAL & EVENT DESTINATION Grapevine is the number one festival destination in Texas, and the season kicks off each spring. Celebrate the beginning of a new grape growing season at the annual New Vintage Wine and Gallery Trail and Blessing of the Vines (GrapevineTexasUSA.com) held each April, with wine and food samplings at participating winery tasting rooms. And don’t miss Main Street Fest – A Craft Brew Experience, held each May in Historic Downtown Grapevine.
SPRING INTO NASH
FORE SCORE Grapevine’s golf courses are popular spring attractions. The 6,900-yard, 27-hole Grapevine Golf Course (3800 Fairway Dr.) was designed in 1979 by two Texans: legendary PGA golfer Byron Nelson and acclaimed golf architect Joe Finger (817.410.3377, GrapevineGC.com). If you love golf and football, check out the 18-hole Cowboys Golf Club (600 Fairway Dr), the world’s first NFL-themed course (817.481.7277, CowboysGolfClub.com). Designed by premier golf architect Ted Robinson in 1980, Bear Creek Golf Club’s 36-hole course (3500 Bear Creek Crt.) has been named one of the “Top 50 Resort Courses in America” by Golf Digest (972.456.3200, BearCreek-Golf.com).
SPRING INTO NASH Celebrate the arrival of spring at Spring Into Nash held each year at Grapevine’s Historic Nash Farm (626 Ball St.). Guests explore Texas heritage and life on a farm during the 19th century. The event features heritage toys, gardening, tractor-drawn wagon rides, demonstrations and more. 817.410.3185, NashFarm.org.

PRE-FESTIVAL FUN The fun begins before the…well…fun begins. The weekend before the festival, attend the Texas Wine Tribute, a black-tie gala recognizing the leaders in the Texas Wine Industry. Tickets are $25 per person plus festival admission.
WINE EVENTS GALORE There’s so much to do GrapeFest weekend. Liberty Park Plaza is booming with activity. At Main and Wall Streets, you can try your hand (actually, feet) in the competitive GrapeStomp. Enjoy live entertainment on multiple stages along Main Street. KID-FRIENDLY, FAMILY-FUN The entire family is welcome at GrapeFest, which includes KidsWorld, a Carnival and a Midway. Pick up a KidsWorld passport and collect stamps for a prize. And be sure to buy an Unlimited Carnival Ride Pass (good for Thursday night only from 5 p.m. to close). They’re $25 in advance or $30 at the festival.

WALLIS HOTEL
HISTORIC DOWNTOWN GRAPEVINE Walking through Historic Downtown Grapevine is a history lesson in and of itself. Lovingly restored, the Historic District is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and highlights gems, such as the Torian Cabin (201 S. Main St.), built in 1845 in the nearby community of Lonesome Dove, and a replica of the 1891 Wallis Hotel. Don’t miss the Grapevine Pioneers program, which includes a passport to create takehome items and participate in variety of 1800s skills and trades.
LIVING HISTORY AT NASH FARM Nash Farm, the oldest farmstead in Tarrant County, became the Nash family homestead on the Grape Vine Prairie in 1859. Today, visitors can check out the historic structures at 626 Ball St. to experience daily Texas life as it was in the late 1800s. Monthly themed events help you learn heritage skills, and special events include Spring Into Nash, First Fridays at the Farm, Fall Round-Up and Victorian Christmas. 817.410.3558, NashFarm.org
GRAPEVINE PIONEERS
RAILROADS IN GRAPEVINE In 1888, the demand for cotton in Grapevine brought the railroad to town—including the Cotton Belt Route which ran until 1972. Today, visitors can step into the restored Historic Cotton Belt Depot (701 S. Main St.), which also serves as the ticket office for the Grapevine Vintage Railroad. From there, you have a chance to ride the vintage rails along the historic Cotton Belt Route. Special events include the Jazz Wine Trains, Kiss Me I’m Irish Express, Witches Brew Train, Day Out With Thomas™ and North Pole Express®. 817.410.3185, GVRR.com
SETTLEMENT TO CITY MUSEUMS In the Ted R. Ware Plaza (206 W. Hudgins St.), a collection of historic buildings give you a glimpse of what life was like in a 19th century commercial hub. Housed inside the replica of the Grapevine Ice Company, the Grapevine Historical Museum showcases the artifacts of Grapevine’s past. The 1888 Keeling House Museum chronicles Grapevine’s growth from pioneer settlement to world-class tourist destination. The 1900 Donald Schoolhouse pays tribute to educators past and present. The Cotton Ginner’s Museum shows the era when cotton was king and features hands-on exhibits. Historically themed events are scheduled at the museums throughout the year. 817.410.3185, GrapevineMuseums.com
GLOCKENSPIEL CLOCK TOWER Western lore comes alive daily when you see the story of the Would-Be Train Robbers played out atop the Glockenspiel Clock Tower on Main Street. The two 9-foot-tall animatronic characters appear several times daily at the top of the clock tower at 636 S. Main St. to commence what each believes to be the perfect heist. It’s the perfect way to memorialize your Grapevine visit. 10 a.m., Noon, 2 p.m., 4 p.m., 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.
DON’T MISS The Walking to Texas Sculpture and Fountain is a tribute to the pioneer families who came to the Grape Vine Prairie. The four horse heads on the fountain facing north, south, east and west represent the Four Directions and the spirit of the Native Americans.
