PERFORMANCE Tiltco’s windows, doors and curtain wall are impervious to corrosion, rot, rust, blistering, flaking and infestation by termites or other insects. Our product resists attacks by fungus, mildew and requires little maintenance.
GLAZING Windows are always characterized as being either single, double, or triple glazed which is a reference to the number of panes of glass incorporated into the insulated glass unit in the window or door. A single glazed window consists of just one pane of glass while a double glazed window consists of an insulated glass unit with two panes of glass separated by a single spacer bar. A triple glazed window contains a glass unit made up of three panes of glass separated by two spacer bars. As a way to achieve the efficiency of a triple glazed window but to avoid the added weight of another full pane of glass, we now provide an additional Lo-E coating on the room side surface of the interior pane of glass on dual glazed units.

COMMERCIAL APPLICATION
Tiltco has utilized the strength and durability of our window and door designs to serve the commercial market over the last 25 years. Project applications range from retail storefront to institutional to commercial high rise given the flexibility we have as a custom made-to-order manufacturer. TESTING From energy efficiency to resisting hurricane-force impacts, consumers demand more than ever before from their windows and doors. To meet these safety, quality, and energy efficiency standards, Tiltco offers and relies on testing of our products to ensure we meet all North American fenestration standards. SHOP DRAWINGS Tiltco is staffed with an experienced team who strive to provide professional shop drawing services which is an integral part of every construction project. We provide these project documents which consist of cross sectional details with integrated wall and installation details for any type of construction. This takes the pressure off of architects, owners and contractors by ensuring this detailing is determined long before any tools are used on-site. In this way a higher quality finish is achieved with the interior and exterior elements of the building envelope. ENGINEERING Engineering and field services solutions are available for any project. We allow the experience and expertise of our on-site teams to be made available to clients. In-house engineering allows for structural, thermal and air/water testing data to be examined for existing elements as well as innovating new designs. Over our lifetime this has allowed us to integrate all 3 of our product lines together seamlessly.
HURRICANE RATED To ensure Tiltco products meet the most current standards for building applications across North America and the Caribbean, each product line is subject to a series of tests. Testing takes place to ensure that all products are engineered to surpass harsh weather conditions such as hurricanes, tornadoes, and seismic activity. Tiltco products have been inspected after the sixth worst Atlantic hurricane recorded, Hurricane Ivan, and have been shown to withstand this natural disaster without damage and were still functional. It is with confidence that all hybrid uPVC tilt and turn windows and doors are tested to Miami-Dade County standards and are Texas TDI approved.
SOLUTIA BAT TEST The Solutia bat test shows the difference between annealed glass and laminated glass. The advantage of laminated glass is the combination of two or more glass sheets with one or more interlayers of plastic (PVB) or resin. In case of breakage, the interlayer holds the fragments together and provides resistance to the passage of persons or objects.
WATER INFILTRATION TEST The water infiltration test simulates the driving force of rain which creates pressure against a window, door or curtain wall section. Under these conditions the product is susceptible to leakage. Tiltcos products have successfully passed water/air infiltration tests up to pressures of -/+80 pounds per square foot (psf ).
LARGE MISSILE IMPACT TEST This test depicts the impact of flying debris from hurricane force winds. The impact test is carried out with a 2”x4” piece of lumber between 6 to 8 feet in length. Tiltco windows and doors have been impact tested with a 2”x4” piece of lumber - being fired at a velocity of over 200 miles per hour. The glass, frame and sash must withstand the test without failure.
WIND PRESSURE TEST The purpose of a wind pressure test is to simulate extremely strong winds experienced in hurricane weather conditions. The simulation is carried out on the window or door by applying positive and then negative pressure at 3 second cycles for an elapsed amount of time. These pressure cycles test whether the glass units will eject from the glazing cavity or remain stationary.
