We’ve all heard of the phrase “It should be a crime to look this good”. The term “Fashion Criminals” refers to that exact statement. A fashion criminal is an individual who can dress very well and carry theirself with tons of confidence while doing so. It’s not about what you wear, it’s about how you wear it. Fashion is an art form that allows you to express who you are through clothing.

WANTED FRESH BAMBINO The youngest out of the group who is known for his creative sense of style. His fashion style is business casual. Signature piece of clothing is a “bowtie” to complete his outfit. VERY dangerous fashion individual.

The bowtie is a style that originated centuries ago known as “the stock”. The fabric is wrapped around the wearer’s neck and tied at the end. Over time this evolved into a favorite tie loved by men today. The first style was called the “butterfly bowtie”, which was difficult to tie and produce. This caused the thickness of the wearer’s collar to affect the lengths and widths of fabric required. Once this discovery was found, the batwing bowtie was born which used straighter ends and easier to tie. The bowtie is an article of clothing in which is pretty universal. The tuxedo and the bowtie is the perfect pair and display a classic & classy look. The bowtie puts an explanation mark on outfits that screams impeccable style. When everything fits comfortably and tied perfect symmetry, this sets you apart from others.

There’s a saying that says, “history always repeats itself ”. That’s true because in fashion, there are trends gradually surfacing back to the older days of formality. Not only do we see more bowties being created with different color/style schemes, but also people showing a new found appreciation for the bowtie. The main purpose for the tie is to compliment your outfit. People shouldn’t look at you and only notice that you’re wearing a bowtie, but rather notice your personality for wearing the bowtie. Fashion is all about how you feel & self-expression when wearing something. So the proper way to wear a bowtie is how it fits with your personality.

hat you wear can inform passers of your type of employment, as well as your ambitions, emotions and spending habits. This discovery has now launched a whole new type of psychology. Materials used in clothing are very rich and hand stitched! Fashion is all about focal points. You have to wear something that will attract the attention of spectators, but can’t go overboard with it. It’s a must to be unique and find what fits you. Fashion is life! Fashion isn’t something that exists in suits, dresses, or shoes only. It’s the way you live, the ideas you possess, the way you talk, and how you carry yourself. Without it, the world would be unembelished to the point where everyone would be the same. Let your style speak volumes about yourself.
WANTED SAUCE GOD This guy is the head of the group. He is known for always having something exclusive to express his sense of style. Sauce God is very versatile with his fashion sense and it shows every time you run across him. He displays the urban style of fashion, but always has that one item to always stand out.

Can you describe your sense of style? Diverse with a mixture of all styles into one. What makes you stand out from others? My passion! I was raised amongst fashion ever since I was a little boy. I remember wearing certain outfits and having gold jewelry at the age of four years old. How long have you been in to fashion? I always knew how to dress, but my style really took a leap when I came to college. I then began to gain understanding of what fashionably meant and how to express it with your wardrobe.
When you style for people, what is your main goal? Comfort level. Of course a person will not feel as comfortable wearing something they are not use to at first, but once you acquire trust everything else will fall into place. Are fabrics important to you? Fabrics are EXTREMELY important to me because the quality of a garment can make or break the piece. Quality doesn’t mean cashmere, silk, or along those lines; just whatever the right fabric is to go with the piece. Although the higher quality the better the feel, but the higher the quality won’t make or break a stylist piece.

ROGERS What fabrics would you recommend to others? My favorite piece of fabric is denim because everyone wears it no matter the occasion. It could be a relax day, business, casual day, or even a house cleaning day. In some form or fashion denim is utilized the most. Honestly my favorite type of denim are Japanese denims because of the washes, the cut, and the overall look and fit of the fabric.
If you had to pick, what’s going to be the next hottest trend/style next?
Who are some of your fashion influences? My mother Charletta Rogers taught me how to dress along with my twin cousins Coyalle and Royalle Woods. The big name fashion people don’t inspire me because a lot of your top designers mimic each others ideas which is not original. I respect ordinary people that live day in and day out with expressing their emotions through their style.
Tops will be oversized and longlined. All of the celebrities are wearing these shirts now days such as Kanye, Justin Bieber, and Usher.
What item of clothing/accessories must you have each outfit? It all depends on the outfit. No outfit is the same, but the most common accessory for a man is a watch. Unless you want to spice it up with some arm candy such as good wood beads. For a professional look a pocket square and a flower pin is a definite for the professional men’s wear approach.
Do you think Arkansas will ever catch up on fashion? Never! The typical Arkansan mindset is too small to ever embrace fashion and appreciate the art itself.
Denim and biker jeans will be the next hottest trend. A lot of designers as I mentioned earlier are mimicking each other, but biker jeans came from a company called Balmain which originated in Paris. Normal cost of them are $1500 a pair. Few American companies are now creating the same style with a fraction of the price.
Sneakers will forever be at an all time high with Jordan’s, Lebron, and select designer sneakers. All time favorite shoe? All time favorite shoe are Jordan retro 11s.
What can people expect from your styling company if they work with you? To be completely flawless at any and every event without spending so much. I can work with any budget, but the more the better.

LETTER FROM THE EDITOR I would like to take this time to thank you for reading the men’s fashion magazine “Fashion Criminals”. I’m very appreciative of all of you. The idea came from a vision to photograph an individual; then I decided I could make this even bigger. This magazine focuses on those who are interested in fashion and expresses their self through clothing. Special thanks to Torey Rogers (Sauce God), Carlos McCants (Young Nino), and Robert Johnson (Fresh Bambino) for helping me bring this vision to life. I was inspired mostly by GQ & VIBE magazine while creating. I wanted to bring a more urban and edgy side to magazines by using mostly photography. Once again, thanks for reading. Fashion is life!
