Shell porcelain uses pure natural marine shell sand as the main raw material, supplemented by feldspar, quartz, kaolin and other raw materials, it uses exquisite materials, complex craftsmanship, delicate molding, and precious finished products.

Seashell products adhere to the concept of “ ecological, environmental , green, and healthy” The main component of shells is calcium carbonate (CaC03). After being heated to a high temperature of about 1000°C, the powder obtained after combustion will be converted into calcium oxide (CaO); after calcium oxide is dissolved in water, it becomes alkaline and Calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)2) aqueous solution with antibacterial activity has the following three properties, making it an effective bactericide: 1. What is Bone China?

Porcelain is a combination of feldspar, quartz and kaolin. These materials are fired in a kiln at temperatures up to 1400°C, resulting in a hard, white, non-porous pottery. Compared to bone china, porcelain tends to be significantly heavier and more brittle, which can lead to chipping.

Bone china, also composed of kaolin, feldspar and quartz, has the greatest strength and resilience of all ceramics with the addition of bone ash to its raw materials. The texture and appearance is opaque, and its colour is snow white.

What is Fine Bone China? The quality of bone china is determined by the total amount of bone ash included in the raw materials. High quality fine bone china contains at least 30% bone ash, enabling thin, walled pieces to be made with a more delicate appearance and translucency compared to porcelain, and allowing for greater chip resistance and durability. Fine bone china is thinner and lighter in weight than porcelain. It also has warmer hues, whereas porcelain tends to be brighter.

Shell porcelain has more than 40% pure shell ash, which performed almost the same quality in terms of lightweight, thinness, and translucency as fine bone china.

Over the years, Timeless Blue has formulated quality standards for our export products. Specific quality requirements include purely technical requirements and visual requirements. Moreover, the high firing temperature also has a strong influence on the form expression of the finished porcelain. When the porcelain is fired, it shrinks by about 10-12 percent. Although the composition of the porcelain mass ensures that the porcelain shrinks in mostly the same manner, small irregularities may occur as the porcelain is organic. The porcelain has been subjected to a high temperature of 800 - 1250 degrees, which means that the glaze color and decal may have different reactions. The final presentation and standards are determined by the acceptance range. The exact export standards and correct usage of the products will be marked on the official order terms.
