NZSO Setting Up Camp: Town and Country, and The Soldier’s Tale
June 10 & 11, from 7.30pm, BNZ Theatre, Vodafone Events Centre, 770 Great South Road, Manukau
The Auckland South Home Show
June 11-13, from 10am, Vodafone Events Centre, 770 Great South Road, Manukau
Paying homage to music of town and country, this performance is expected to depict musical explorations into two different environments. On the following night (June 11), the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra will be joined by dancers from the Royal New Zealand Ballet to present A Soldier’s Tale, about a soldier who makes a deal with the Devil. More information about both of these shows is accessible via www.nzso.co.nz. Sure, there’s no place like home but when it comes to making our homes our castles, there are some shows well worth hitting the road to see. Designed especially for those of us who live in the Auckland region – between Pokeno and Pakuranga – this event covers everything from construction to interior design, gardening and more. See www.aucklandsouthhomeshow.co.nz for details.
Matariki double bill
June 19-21, Herald Theatre, Aotea Centre, Queen Street, Auckland City
Two inspiring (although very different) pieces of documentary theatre will be on show this month. While Barrier Ninja expresses challenges faced in dealing with the health system, Sorry For Your Loss is a heartfelt recollection of growing up on the mean streets of Hamilton in the ‘90s. For more information about these shows, visit www.aucklandlive.co.nz.
Lindauer Ladies Day
