The CHIP Reverse Mortgage: A retirement solution made for today

Everyone can use a little extra cash in retirement. Maybe you want to help a child with a down payment on their rst home. Perhaps you want to pursue your passion for travel. Or maybe in ation is taking a bite out of your savings and you don't have a company pension to fall back on. With higher costs for everything from groceries to energy bills, three-quarters of Canadians say they can't keep pace with the cost of living.

That's why the CHIP Reverse Mortgage by HomeEquity Bank is a solution that's growing in popularity. If you're a Canadian homeowner aged 55 and older, the CHIP Reverse Mortgage allows you to access up to 55% of your home's value and turn it into tax-free cash. You don't have to make any regular mortgage payments or pay back the loan until you move or sell. Best of all, you get to stay in the home you love – a dream shared by more than 90% of Canadians. As the money you receive from a reverse mortgage is a loan, it's not added to your taxable income and does not affect government bene ts like Old Age Security (OAS). The funds you receive can be used to meet any of your nancial needs, including:

• Home renovations or retro tting

• Paying down or consolidating debt

• Travel and leisure

• Medical expenses

• Helping a child with a down payment on a home

Since the CHIP Reverse Mortgage is designed for Canadians 55+, it's easier to qualify for than other lending options. Your home must be used as your primary residence and the amount you qualify for will depend on factors such as your age and the appraised value of your home.
