Commitment Issues?
Executives and CEOs often have their own coaches. But coaching is actually for everyone.
Life coaches help clients find their way by taking them from where they are in their life to where they want to be and who they want to be in their world.
Since COVID many now know the value of taking care of their mental health. Coaching supports this with a partnership that provides a space for those deep personal conversations about who we are and what we want that often aren’t present elsewhere in our lives. By carving out time for coaching you create a space to pause, breath and reflect.
Here’s what you can expect when you work with a coach: awakeningslifecoaching.ca Linda@awakeningslifecoaching.ca (250)
• Discover what it is you really want in your life, and begin working towards it.
• Have a partner who holds the “big picture” for you when daily life can get bogged down with the details.
• Help you to get unstuck from your current perspective, and help you understand how it may be holding you back.
• Have an accountability partner as you work towards achieving that more fulfilling life that you’ve always dreamed of.
• Coaching will provide you with someone to listen, nurture, and support you, without judgement; allowing you to be vulnerable and honest with yourself.
• Coaching creates a space for self awareness and thus, a space to grow.
Whether it’s improving your relationships, changing careers, starting a business, planning your retirement, getting out of your comfort zone, growing your courage or being a better communicator, coaching can help with all of these areas and more.
Life can be hard. Having a partner on the journey who empowers you but doesn’t give advice can change your path, and the destination.

Curious about cold water therapy?
If you haven’t tried cold plunging or cold water swimming yet, perhaps you’ve heard about it from friends or in the media. People are falling in love with the icy shock and invigorating feeling that comes with it. With a deep history in Scandinavian cultures, cold plunge is seeing a rise in popularity across North America for its therapeutic, health, and athletic recovery benefits, including reduced pain, improved mood and energy, and better sleep.
This hot/cold contrast is at the core of RITUAL Nordic Spa, which opened in downtown
Victoria early 2022. Spa guests do a “Nordic Circuit”, moving through hot and cold sessions at their own pace, relaxing in between.
The circuit includes traditional saunas, steam room, a cold plunge pool (kept at 9 degrees Celsuis, similar to the ocean at Willows Beach!), a Nordic bucket shower, plus a salt lounge relaxation area and outdoor patios. Cold plunging and contrast therapy trigger a release of positive hormones and can be the source of a quick mood boost. Alternating between hot and cold exposure stimulates hormone behavior such as:
• The storage and release of norepinephrine, improving attention and focus.
• Increase in prolactin, which helps your brain function faster by enhancing myelination and repair of damaged neurons.
• Encourages growth of new brain cells, improving the ability to retain new info, and lessening certain types of depression and anxiety.
• An increase in dynorphin, which results in your body becoming more sensitive to the benefits of the release of endorphins.
RITUAL Nordic Spa is designed as a modern take on the traditional sauna house, including their communal elements. Dipping into the cold the first few times can be challenging but in a fun way. Whether you try cold plunge with friends or solo, sharing space is a social component that adds to the experience.
