2. Clifton Beach
If you want to see and be seen, this is the spot for you. Made up of four sheltered coves, this is where the beautiful people come to play. The water can be chilly, but you’re not here to swim. Tans and beachwear are all-important. And if you can retire to one of the clapboard houses flanking these beaches, then you truly have arrived (and you don’t want to leave).
5. Boulders Beach
To get here, you need to head out past Simon’s Town. You’ll notice that this beach is different, with wooden walkways and high fences. This is because it is part of a conservation area and is home to the African penguin. The penguins reign supreme, but there are some gorgeous little coves surrounded by large boulders. Sorry bring your own picnic, penguins may look like waiters – but they’re not!
