A high school senior’s story

I’ve dreamed of my senior year for so long that now that I am graduating from Agua Fria High School everything feels so surreal.

As a first-generation child, I have always wanted my parents to be proud of me and my accomplishments. I hope they have that feeling as I walk across the stage at the State Farm Stadium. For it was their constant pushing and support that allowed me to be able to get to where I am today.

Although my senior year was cut short due to COVID-19, I can’t say that I am filled with regret, since my high school years were filled with so much joy from the clubs and people that I met these last four years.

I worked so hard as a dual-enrollment student that I can’t help but feel that it was worth it in the end despite the long hours, from being the National Honor Society president to having a 4.0 GPA at Estrella Mountain Community College.

My high school career will be filled with moments and memories that will follow me for the rest of my life.
