Scotts Valley is a business-friendly city, attracting high tech corporations and a variety of industries. Close to Silicon Valley, with a wonderful climate and mountain vistas, Scotts Valley welcomes businesses and visitors. The city and the Chamber of Commerce partner to support businesses and continue strong progress in growing the economy.

The city has many exceptional attributes, including great schools, outdoor recreation, low crime rate, cultural events, and the 1440 Multiversity. Quality hotels and restaurants, friendly residents, and many unique locally owned businesses also contribute to a vibrant community. The public schools in Scotts Valley are recipients of the California Distinguished Schools award. Scotts Valley High School offers the prestigious International Baccalaureate (IB) program.

Scotts Valley has been recognized as one of the safest cities in California. The Police Department has a long history of community policing and a strong positive relationship with the business community. The department offers youth programs which include DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education), the Junior Police Academy, the Explorer Program, and a High School Resource Officer. Police Officers ride bicycles through shopping centers and parks to protect residents and businesses.

Outdoor recreation is a high priority in Scotts Valley. The city is committed to improving bicycle and pedestrian facilities. Scotts Valley is home to six gorgeous parks and also the magnificent 170-acre Glenwood Open Space Preserve, inviting hikers, mountain bikers, equestrians and dog walkers to meadows and redwood forests. Nearby is the world-famous Henry Cowell State Park.

One of the city’s crown jewels is 1440 Multiversity, which has been ranked by CNN as one of the top 11 wellness retreats in the world. This is a beautiful and nurturing destination where people and organizations gather among the redwoods to explore, learn, reflect, connect, and reenergize. This unique nonprofit has established itself as a premier learning destination, having welcomed over 100,000 visitors from more than 54 countries.

Scotts Valley has a vibrant future:

• The city was excited to recently welcome Target into the Scotts Valley Square shopping center, along with a major remodel and beautification of the entire center.

• The Hangar, adjacent to Scotts Valley Square Shopping Center, recently opened the Faultline Brewery featuring live entertainment, firepit conversation areas and an activity patio. The Faultline Brewery offers a fine dining experience with a focus on handcrafted beers. Other businesses also recently opened in the Hangar, including the popular Penny Ice Creamery, Home by Zinnia’s, which offers beautiful and unique furnishings and home décor, and MADabolic fitness center.

• Last fall, the Scotts Valley Cultural and Performing Arts Center opened in the heart of Scotts Valley, enriching our community. We look forward to stage performances from local theater groups and school productions.

• The Scotts Valley beautiful state-ofthe-art public library just reopened, following extensive renovations.

• A future Town Center awaits us. Towards that goal, we have assembled the Library, Community Center, Cultural and Performing Arts Center, METRO transit hub, Skypark, and the Hangar.

As a long-time resident, I enjoy the beauty of the forests and mountains and value this family friendly community. I welcome you to Scotts Valley!
