In October Watseka Community High School boys’ golf team members Cameron Barragree, Daison Harris, Nathan Schroeder, Kyle Giroux, Joe Trudeau and Joe Hebert were ready to celebrate the first-ever Watseka boys golf regional championship win. The team celebrated by being escorted into town with the help of the Watseka Fire Department. Central wins Central’s wrestling team won the IHSA 1A regional at Bismarck in February. Central scored 164.5. Herscher scored 132.5. St. Joseph-Odgen was third with 131 points. Hoopeston Area had 111 points for fourth place. BismarckHenning was fifth with 81 points. PBL scored 68 points for sixth place. Fifthian (Oakwood) had 63 points for seventh place, St. Thomas More was eighth with 61 points and Dwight scored 23 points for ninth place. Photo contributed
