THE POWER OF DECLARING

Words are powerful. When words of blessing are spoken over us by someone who has authority, such as a parent or a pastor, they have the ability to set the direction for our lives. The reason some people aren’t reaching their potential is they’ve never had blessings spoken over them.

They’ve never had anyone declare what they can become, who God says they are. The prophet Isaiah said, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me to declare good news to the poor, proclaim liberty to the captives... to proclaim the year of God’s favour” (Isaiah 61:1-2).

All those who would receive this declaration would see it come to pass. Hundreds of years later, Jesus read this same declaration to the people in the synagogue. He knew the power of declaring and having to hear victory, abundance, healing spoken over you for it to come to pass.

When Jesus chose His disciples, they were ordinary people - several fishermen, a tax collector; a zealot. Yet he looked at them and said, “You are the light of the world.” They probably thought, “Who’s He talking about? There’s nothing special about us.”

But down in their spirit something ignited, came alive. Their seeds of greatness began to take root. They felt rising up and destiny calling them. Instead of talking themselves out of it, they got in agreement. “Yes, we’re the light of the world.” Jesus spoke the blessing over them.

He declared favour and influence for them and because they agreed, they became the light of the world and changed it. Two thousand years later, they’re still impacting us. Perhaps the recent days have brought disappointments and dreams didn’t work out.

Thoughts of doubt have come such as, “It’s never going to happen. I’ll never recover, see my best days.” If the negative is drowning out what God has spoken over you, you need fresh favour spoken. A fresh anointing. That’s why I’m going to declare a blessing just as Isaiah did.

I declare that 2023 will be a year of God’s favour for you and your family, with healthy relationships and good friends. New doors are about to open, with promotion, success and creativity. You are blessed with good health, vitality, energy.
