Our New Logo

Our New Logo The new logo combines a graphic element and a word mark – either vertically or horizontally. The graphic element is an abstract derivation from the hexagon shape. Here, three gaps broken break the hexagon to form three open spaces, which represent the three directions of the Lionel Industry; building, collaborating, and exploring. The capital letter ‘L’ located in the center of the hexagon and the head and the feet connect with the edge of the open segment, maintain the integrity of the graphic shape. The ‘L’ typeface based on the old typeface used as the sign on the old train which is reminiscent of the Old Lionel Train. The current word mark is based on the font ’Bender’. We always employ original logo files, and the logo may not be altered in any way. The logo is always set in a single color.

Logo Variation In order to ensure the logo is recognizable, the logo must be displayed at a size large enough to read the logo type and the logo marks.

ON DARK AND COLORED BACKGROUNDS
There will be instances when the logo will be used on a dark or colored surface. Anytime the logo faces a color background, the Lionel logo vision will use white color instead.

Clear Space A LOGO needs to be flexible enough to be incorporated across different media. This flexibility depends on the restrictions you impose on it. Keeping this idea in mind, Lionel’s new logo will have a clear defined area that must be respected in all cases to ensure an appropriate display of the logo.

Identity Typeface Our primary typeface is Panton, it is characterized by excellent legibility in both web and print design areas, well-finished geometric designs, optimized kerning, excellent web-font performance and legibility etc. Inspired by the classic grotesque typefaces, Panton has his own unique style expressed in perfectly softened geometric forms. Giving New Lionel a clean simple presence that is iconic is our main goal. The round, tech, and modern feel of Panton with ITC Benguiat font which typeface is also used for the TV show title “Stranger Things.� ITC Benguiat gives the feeling of enigmatic, old and futuristic. ITC Benguiat is a serif typeface designed in 1977 by Brooklyn-born type designer and letterer Ed Benguiat. The design was inspired by the Art Nouveau movement and features a large x-height and high-waisted capitals.
