Warning signs of an addicted person


When a person is using illicit drugs he/she has a greater chance of being addicted because as humans, we are easily attracted to the things that can give us pleasure, even in a short period of time, such as sex and drugs, but we often set aside the idea that being overwhelmed with the experience can lead to unhealthy addiction, which is bad for us and to the people around us. People who are sex addicts can do crimes against the opposite sex while addict people can cause crime to their family and everyone around them. As an ordinary citizen, we should be aware of the warning signs that a person is addicted, this can prevent us from being a victim of their crime and at the same time, we can be aware if one of our family members is under the authority of drugs.


PHYSICAL SIGNS OF DRUG ABUSE

The eyes of the person are bloodshed or the pupils are larger or smaller than the normal. They have frequent nosebleeds, these can be related to the types of snorted drugs like cocaine or meth They have a change in appetite and they are having sleep patterns. They can have a sudden weight loss or weight gain They can experience seizures even without any history of epilepsy


They do not care about their personal grooming and their own physical appearance They could not tell how they get an injury or how they encounter an accident They have unusual smells on their breath, their body and their cloths They have unstable condition such as shaking, slurred speech and tremors


BEHAVIORAL SIGNS OF DRUG ABUSE

They are mostly complaint by their co-workers, teachers and classmates They have an unexplained need for money or financial problems. That cause them to steal, borrow and for their family to lose their valuables and money at home. They have a sudden change in their relationship, hobbies and even friends They frequently get into trouble, such as fights, accidents, arguments and other illegal activities


They mostly dropped their performance and attendance on their work and at school. They lose their interest in doing other extracurricular activities at school and at work. They have a very suspicious behavior


PSYHCOLOGICAL SIGNS OF DRUG ABUSE

They have a sudden change with their personality and attitude which is unexplainable They have unexpected mood changes, they are easily irritated and they often laugh at nothing They have periods of being too hyper or agitated They lack the ability to focus and motivation They become very fearful or paranoid with no apparent reasons


If these signs are present with your neighbor or with one of your relatives and a member of your family, be alarmed because they are addicted. In this case, they can contact an authority or they can talk to their family member to face the issue. Because the problem can be solved with the help of drug treatment centers, these institutions are the once who help addicted individuals who wants to achieve sober living.
