LETS GET STARTED
If you are a beginner you should know about the best table tennis paddle you should be using when you are playing, learning and improving your table tennis playing skills. There different types of bats that are available, some which looks like a paddle used in the game but they are not. This plastic moulded bat, it has absolutely no grip at all on the surface. It's only useful for hitting the ball nice and flat. If you try to perform any sort of spin, it won’t work.
Same case with a bat that has the pimples but no sponge. Here is the pimpled bat with no sponge underneath. It's just a ball hitting wood, makes the same noise too.
SPIN IS IMPORTANT Yes, that is the big key in the game. When you are trying to learn different types of strokes, it's important to have the skill of spinning or the ability to put topspin or backspin on the ball when you are making a stroke.
BETTER CONTROL That actually gives you a better control over the ball too. As you get better and develop your strokes more, then spin becomes even more important. When you start of developing the basic strokes that looks like a forehand, a backhand, you need to increase in speed, length, and develop it to a higher level without having to change the actual stroke. So that’s why you need a paddle that generates a little bit of spin on the ball.
PRE-BUILT PADDLES There are a lot of pre-made bat that you can find at a lot of sports retailers, and at the start they are quite good. They have the necessary grip on the surface, they've got a bit of sponge underneath the rubber which gives you a little bit of spin.
LACK OF DURABILITY The only problem with this is that they wear out really quickly. Within a couple of weeks or a month, you'll find that the surface of the rubber has gone completely dead or the ball just slides across the surface. If the rubber is dead you won’t get any spin, and that’s not really any good at all for learning to play table tennis.
HOW DO YOU GET THE GRIP BACK? You don’t. You need to replace the rubber.
HOW TO KNOW IF THE RUBBER IS DEAD? Rub your finger across the top of the surface if it's slippery clean itwith fresh water, if the grip doesn't come back, then it's time to replace.
WHAT IS A GOOD BAT TO START WITH? Pre built one. The most important part when getting a premade bat is to look at the quality of the rubber. The wood doesn't really have a lot of effect on the performance. What your really need to look for is the quality of the rubber.
A little bit thicker sponge underneath the rubber, quality of grip on the surface of the rubber to allow to generate more spin. The big advantage of this type of bat, which we call a pre made bat, is that its got more spin. It has the ability to generate some spin but still quite a slow bat, provides enough control to learn new strokes.
Pre-made Paddle Fetures
A pre-made means that it comes to you already assembled from the manufacture. It has the wood and the rubber already glued to it. You simply just take it out of the packet and start playing. A better quality pre-made racquet should last you around a year or a little bit more than that.
Verdict Depends on your choices, find a bat that's in your level, enjoy your game, stick with it and you'll start to improve gradually.
