The chosen designs for the packaging is in the shape of a pentagon and a rectangle tin. The design comprises of a boutique style limited edition ‘tea tin’ and and the refil containers. The main design is specifically targeted at people who collect ‘tea’ memorabilia and is not aimed at a specific gender. The design is of a basic avante garde form with a black background, a white geometric shaped teapot and a leaf and tea leaves coming from the leaf logo. The Leaf and leaves will be the colour that associates with the contents of the container The three flavours I have incorporated into the design are Black Tea, Lemon & Honey and Green Tea. The black tea comes in silver or red colourations. 4

MANIFESTO SYMBOLISM: The symbols I have chosen all relate to tea. -The tea leaf -Tea leaves -Teapot/cup I chose a traditional oblong shaped tin for the Limited Edition product and for the other packaging I have chosen a pentagon shaped container that will be the refil box for the limited edition product. I have chosen to design a different shape to the normal tea packages so it will stand out on the shelves and would sit nicely in a honeycomb pattern also when being displayed. TONE: The design takes a modern approach in that most of the designs today are feminine orientated in that they have pretty designs and aesthetics. The design I have chosen will be attractive to any audience, it has dark tones complimented by an industrial type font and a scriptive font that works nicely together. I want the viewer to notice this packing first.
COLOUR: The main graphics as previously mentioned represent what flavour you might think the colours represent. Black tea have the leaf, tea leaves and lines in silver and an alternative red scheme. The obvious choice would have been black but this would not work because of the black background. The Lemon & Ginger colouring the same components mentioned will be a gold colour. One I have developed for the purpose. Lastly, the green will have the lime green colouring. This allows the user to easily identify the flavour they want. I chose to do an Avante Garde design which will have alot of white space in the front view of both the tin and the refil packaging so it will be visually appealing when displayed.
STYLE: Modern, crisp style, the front face is not clogged up with information. Designed specifically for retail in a boutique. A design that can be displayed and is visually appealing. TYPOGRAPHY: The main brand name is of an industrial style and one that may appeal to the male gender but at the same time an easy to read script font is used to appeal to the female gender. This will be used to show the flavour of the tea it is referring to. The informational aspects of the design will use Helvetica as it is easy to read. RELATIONSHIPS: The whole design of the graphics relate specifically to the tea and was designed to make it
