Diminished Light

Diminished light As the day moves toward evening Shadows begin to form The sun drifts below the horizon Evening shadows spreading gently And the sky changing from blue to gray Awaiting the stars to appear Amid the ghost of the moon Forecasting the blackening of the sky The yellow sun gone Replaced from west to east As the white orb ascends The moon casting a new light Pulling the tides as it pulls the day From light to dark In a never-ending pattern of the solar system Amid the vastness of the Universe
