hybrid the project

Hybrid a brand that is based on the Cradle to Cradle速 principle, no materials are being spilled and the environment is not harmed. I created this brand together with four other students, from the concept till the samples.

the concept

Hybrid is an innovative jeans brand that forms a synergy between nature and technology. Everything happens under one roof, from creating the fibre for the denim (made of bamboo), until doing the marketing and selling the jeans in a hypermodern flagship store. In the first generation of this jeans we bring the sober nature and the high-tech from Japan together. The consumers of Hybrid are motivated to bring their jeans back after wearing them, so that the cyclus can start over.

the collection

The jeans are consisting technology that enables a default to connect people with each other. You can gather information on a usb that is integrated in the label of the jeans. The information is passed on from one person to another when you tear loose the label and connect it with the cable inside your front pocket. The fibre will light up and a Bluetooth connection will be activated. If the other Hybrid wearer stands in a distance of ten centimetre, and is jeans is activated too, you can select the information and send it to the other person. The tops are also made from bamboo and always contain a contrats between graphic and natural structures and shapes.

the jeans

For this project we also created two jeans, including the pattrens, and a complete sample file. On the right page you can see a picture and the drawings of the jeans.

antithese the project

Antithese is a brand I created, together with 20 other students, in three weeks’ time. It’s a reflection of the province Flevoland. It included a concept plan, a business plan, a small collection and a 3D stand.

the concept

What’s central within Antithese is bending the cycles of life. The people have a big influence on that what is given as natural. It ensures a forced reality. In this way situations originate in which the effect of cooperation is bigger than the elements when they are separated. Antithese translates this vision into a progressive ensemble, in which anonymous luxury comes in the first place.

The store

The store of Antithese will not be like any other store, but its mobile retail. The product will be sold via a trailer (and the world wide web). The trailer visits each city for two weeks and will be placed in a unnatural place, like a park or a living area.

By AMFI is the statement store of Amsterdam Fashion Institute. I’m in this team together with eight other fashion students. We create concepts and make sure everything is in the right place. For the first concept, the Incubator, I did the sourcing. This means I looked for young designers that are able to sell their clothes in our store. For more information see: www.byamfi.nl
