I. A life inside prison is not something everyone would really dream of being in. But when someone lands in this place, the very first thought of it by itself is horrifying. A prison should be a therapeutic community.A community is composed of varying architectural element that create private and public spaces with different types of restrictions at different times. The spaces must promote human interaction with the objective of instilling a sense of community in the

inmates.
II. Block A,B,C each represent spaces specified by
one
function. 1. In this configuration each function stands alone. 2. The spaces are broken down into multiple smaller spaces of one functioncreating new interactive voids. 3. Overlaps the functions to create new functional spaces with those existing. 4. The functional spaces and voids are divided into seperate microcosmsconnected by larger voids between them. This creates multiple, Intersecting circulations as oppose to one linear , repetitive sequence..
Thus, the design of prisons must model a community with overlapping constraints or security.

ACCOMODATION
The accomodation block gates for 36 cells, 12 cells in each floor and cells are arranged through open corridor concept. Each floor has a guard's room that is placed diagonally across the building through the floors. The toilets are also placed in the middle of the block and is noticeable to the guards from a better distance. The staircase through the block is placed perpendicularly and is placed near the guard's room for security purpose and avoid dead ends.
ACCOMODATION
The high security block is visually connected to the prison complex and has special seperate access for the prisoners and staff. Located 12M from the GL, the high security cells is connected thorugh a series of ramps and steps that interestingly form spaces that is ventilated through the use of jalli wall and metal lintel level grill openings. The High security complex can accomodate 20 to 24 prisoners at a time and is [rovided with tv room, play area, yoga and reading area which form a part of their curriculum. The other facilities include emergency health care, Laundry services and Kitchen in levels below the HSP accomodation block.

the INTERJECTION
The design completely stands out from the basic idealogy of an apartment. Bringing people of all classes under one roof and helping to find interaction among them through common & semipublic community spaces. The shape of the site helped further to increase interaction . The intention of design houses for lower , middle income and also for the economically weaker section & finding privacy in the design was the major aim in solving. Bringing interaction among blocks through central park streets over looked by balconies from alternative floors to enhance lighting into individual units. Alternate floors have community spaces that can be efficiently utilised. The plans are mostly open in which mostly living room , dining and kitchen can be altered depending on the convenience of the user for any unit be it low income, middle income or even economically weaker section house. The houses of the economically weaker section are kept away and provided with open frontyard space that can extend to be their cooking or multiutility area and provided with 2 rooms of equal sizes that are again used based on preference.

scope of work During my 8 months of Internship at WARP and White Rabbit Architects, I was assigned majorly with AutoCAD, Client meeting - Presentations and at times Sketchup Interior Modelling and Rendering. I majorly handled a single Residential project, under the guidance of my senior architect from its civil revision, electrical, plumbing, toilet, false ceiling, skylight detail drawings to assisting her in site visits. I have added some of the few drawings that were sent to site for construction after approval and some of my other few works.

Clueless as I was about architecture when I started, I have grown to like and respect the continuously changing landscape of the field. I enjoy watching visions come to life. the way design can influence and shape ones behavior in terms of routine, habits and mood, the connect between a person and the built space driven by both the layout and the aesthetics is what fascinated me most about the profession.
I aspire to keep evolving with the changing perception of what architecture can do and it’s contribution to society.
