ABTCP - Brazilian Technical Association of Pulp and Paper - is an entity committed to the technical development of professionals in the forest-based production chain and to the evolution of the competitiveness of companies operating in this segment. It is one of the most respected technical institutions in the world in its area of activity, having earned the title of OSCIP - Civil Society Organization of Public Interest - for proving the value generated in training and high level information to the market.
The Colombian Pulp, Paper and Board Technical Association, promoves knowledge sharing, technological development, innovation and sustainability of the paper industry
Appita was formed in 1946 with the first Annual General Meeting and technical conference held in March 1947 in Melbourne. The association has continued to support and represent the pulp and paper industry in Australia and New Zealand, providing member organisations with tools and opportunities to showcase their products and services, as well as evolve to face the challenges of an ever changing and dynamic sector. Appita’s mission is to: • advance and promote innovation and manufacturing best practice across the forest products, pulp, paper and packaging value chain, including new biomass-derived products. • To lead the development and transfer of technical information and best practices fundamental to the industry. • To develop and support programs to encourage the growth of a diverse, well-prepared pool of industry professionals. • To build strong relationships with industry stakeholders across the supply chain • To drive the interchange of information across the industry supply chain through effective networking. This is achieved this through organised seminars, forums, conferences, special interest groups, and publications to the industry, such as our quarterly Appita TIME magazine, our monthly e-Newsletter and our new online publication Seventeen22. This year Appita celebrates its 70th anniversary in the industry, and to mark this milestone, throughout the year past technical papers will be published in the Appita TIME magazine spanning the 7 decades. Recyclers of scrap paper exist in all countries and are providing collection services companies, separation, storage, classification and relocation of waste (scrap) paper and cardboard pre and post consumption. In Brazil, the category is represented by ANAP - National Association of Paper Recycling and represents an important segment of the economy generating about 40 thousand direct jobs and acts preserving the environment, referring to recycling approximately 4.8 million tons paper every year. In addition, to move large volumes of recyclable paper, using machinery, vehicles, energy and fuel, ends up generating income and providing thousands of direct and indirect jobs as well as tax payments, fees, tolls, etc., not to mention the approximately 300,000 existing collectors in our country and living collecting recyclable materials and old paper one of its major sources of income.
The Brazilian Tree Industry (Ibรก) is the association responsible for institutionally representing the planted tree production chain, from the fields to the factory, with its main stakeholders. Ibรก was created in April 2014, and represents 49 companies and 9 state entities for products originating from planted trees, most notably wood panels, laminate flooring, pulp, paper, energy forests, and biomass, as well as independent producers of planted trees and financial investors.
