The Impact of Western Civilization on World History is a succinct outline of Western history and its affect on the world from the time of the ancient Greeks and Romans to the present. Specific topics include Western Christendom, empire building, the Russian Revolution, and the role of the West in a globalized world.

An anthology of 142 important political and religious writings from the ancient Mediterranean and Near East, these works provide historical, political, cultural and religious context for the writings in the Bible, and help students better understand the time and the world that produced the biblical texts. The carefully selected readings represent literary genres that complement those in the Bible.

The selected readings explore questions of ethics, morality, justice, community, political philosophy, and the understanding of self and humanity.
