Simon YUNG grew up in Hong Kong. He obtained a Diploma in Chinese Painting from HKU SPACE (2006), and a Bachelor of Arts in Chinese Humanities from OUHK (2011). He also studied Chinese calligraphy and seal engraving (2001-2003) under Master Ou Dawei, Chinese ink painting (2008-2010) under Master Hung Hoi. Simon has participated in numerous local and overseas art exhibitions, and has won numerous awards in different art competitions. His works are collected by the Hong Kong Museum of Art, corporate and private collectors. He is engaged in design and art education, and is a full member of the Hong Kong Designer Association, and a member of the Hong Kong Society for Education in Art. Simon focuses on ink painting. The creative concept behind his landscape painting is to hold together the classical philosophy of the ancient Chinese scholars' use of ink. He pursues the philosophy inspired by Du Fu's poetry : 水 流 心 不 競 , 雲 在 意 遲 . His works integrate this invisible spirit into the landscape, turning the turmoil of real life into a world of quiet and serenity. In addition, he was inspired and influenced by Romantic English artist William Turner and Impressionist French artist Claude Monet. He uses Eastern and Western art materials and techniques to create his own rich colourful paintings imbued with a sense of Chinese fusion. His landscapes depict a fairy tale - like Chinese utopia based on natural scenes from his recalled memory. The other iconic symbol found in Simon's work is the waterfall. He feels that unlike trees and buildings which grow vertically upwards, water quietly flows downwards to nourish life on earth.

Mediha TING grew up in Hong Kong and was educated in the United States and in England. She comes from an artistic background and studied Fine Arts to postgraduate level. She initially pursued a career in banking before launching her career in art. She returned to live and work in Hong Kong in 2013. Her work has been described by one reviewer as embodying a powerful feminine spiritual energy. Mediha was brought up in a Taiwanese-Chinese-Muslim hosehold. This diverse upbringing along with her overseas experience have allowed her to investigate perceptions of cultural identity, relationships between the inner world and the urban built environment and, more importantly, the state of consciousness and the subconscious. ~ by Jefferson Mendoza dimsumnews.com

LAU Chin Hung grew up in Hong Kong and received a scholarship to study Fine Arts in France in 1977. In 1982, he graduated from l’Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux - Arts - Paris, majoring in oil painting. In 1986 he obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Plastic Arts from l’Universite Paris I - Pantheon - Sorbonne. He has held solo exhibitions in Europe, Taipei and Hong Kong. His works are particularly popular with collectors and he recently has enjoyed much success at Sotheby’s and Christie’s. His iconic “floating cabbage in the sky” motif is similar to the idea of “the beginning of chaos” in Chinese Taoist belief. It also represents the artist’s own view of his fundamental cultural roots after residing overseas for over three decades. The cabbage reflects the unique historical characteristics and existence of Hong Kong culture. In its unexpected positionings in his paintings, the cabbage introduces the idea of “dream vs. non-dream”, “reality vs. surreality” and the potentiality of living things as carried by the cabbage symbol.

CHAK Chun Lam grew up and was educated in Hong Kong. His father who was a commercial landscape painter, nurtured in him a love of oil painting from a young age. As a teenager, the wonder and beauty of science and astronomy fascinated him. He now works in the IT field and is married with a son. In his leisure time, he enjoys reading, especially books on science and science fiction. He earned a B. Sc. in Engineering from the Chinese University Hong Kong (CUHK) in 2004 and began his artistic career after he obtained his Diploma of Fine Art from the School of Continuing and Professional Studies in 2014. His work is privately collected in Hong Kong. He enjoys the process of experimenting and discovering new painting techniques, such as pouring and spraying acrylic paint onto wood and aluminium panels. In future he may try plastic panels. He loves experimenting with acrylic paint because of its varying transparency and translucency. He feels that acrylic, is not only a substitute medium for oil or watercolor but is versatile and has a life of its own. Painting is an adventure and the joy of discovery motivates him in this endless pursuit.
