Thomas Lambert AR150 Project NO.3 “Tower” My tower uses a type of slot and strap connection’s to keep it together. I figured it would be a tight strong fit and would hold upside down. While building the tower, I realized the cardboard is temperamental and cannot be handled for too long or it will become weak. By carefully balancing each block I feel confident my tower will stand, and hold together upside down.

The more I cut the weaker the integrity of the shape would be. So I cut minimal amounts off of each shape to produce enough scrap for my ties.

The openings I cut out for the extra pieces, were cut into strips and inserted into a slotted space I cut to just be wide enough to fit the ties. Once the ties were in the slots, I went into the cutouts and folded over the ties to make a more ridged connection.

I knew I was going to need a heavy base, but I didn’t want to sacrifice too much material because that would limit my height. By using the biggest blocks, I strapped them together with at least 2 ties on each block, once this was established I had my platform to build up.

It was a little tipsy but with come careful balancing it stood straight with a total of 30. The challenge of not moving the tower around too much was nearly impossible. Every move made it looser due to the material used.
