OTHER GOOD EATS
The family behind
Lockhart Smokehouse
keeps the state famous for barbecue with an outpost at Texas Live! Have a beer at Revolver Brewing BLDG 5 or at Troy’s, the project of Dallas Cowboys legend Troy Aikman. Emmy-award-winning chef Guy Fieri’s Taco Joint makes a mean margarita, and Miller Tavern’s Jalapeno Corn Fritters pack the perfect punch. Sports & Social rounds out the all-star lineup with two floors serving up fun games and good food, including
Rangers Republic
Tex-Mex and Pudge’s Pizza (that’s catcher Pudge Rodriguez).
GAME ON
Game days are a big deal in Arlington. Globe Life Field, the $1.1 billion home of the Texas Rangers, is the first of its kind in baseball. With its 5.5 acre transparent retractable roof, Rangers fans can enjoy an outdoor ambience in airconditioned comfort. The stadium also hosts concerts, events, and other sports. Catch a Dallas Cowboys game at AT&T stadium if you're in town during football season. Whether you’re at a football game or concert, you'll never miss a second of the action with one of the video display boards in the world in the middle of the stadium. Don't forget to tour both AT&T Stadium and Globe Life Field while you're here! The newest sports team to call Arlington home are the Dallas Jackals, a professional rugby team of Major League Rugby.
FUN FACTS
Not to brag, but everything really is BIGGER IN TEXAS! The entire Statue of Liberty can fit inside AT&T Stadium with a few feet to spare. It is 320 feet from the blue star at midfield all the way up to the closure of the retractable roof. New York’s Statue of Liberty is only 305 feet in height.
The dimensions of Globe Life Field were selected to honor key moments and people in Texas Rangers’ history! There is a distance marker in left field at 334 feet from home plate to recognize Nolan Ryan’s #34.
Choctaw Stadium hosts both the Dallas Jackals and the North Texas Soccer Club games. When there's not a rugby or soccer game going on, make sure you check out other concert and events hosted at Choctaw Stadium.
