EMTEE ROLL UP DJ NOAH NOMINATED FOR BET AWARDS

HATTERS: MAY BE THIS IS THE TIME YOU ALL SHUT UP - NJE! Themba D. Ndlovu themban@kasivibz.co.za Mthembeni Ndevu (23) born in September 15, 1992, better known by his stage name Emtee da Hustler, is a South African hip hop musician and record producer. He is best known for his début hit single, "Roll Up". He is yet to scoop himself another award. This time around the rapper has been nominated for the 2016 BET Awards Viewers Choice, Best International Act. In just a year of his rise in his music career, EMTee has realised huge support from hip hop fans across Southern Africa, which has been rewarded by award nominations and won his first award for Song Of The Year at the South African Hip Hop Awards 2015, followed by five nominations and winning four Metro FM Awards for Best Music Video for Roll Up, Best Mix for Roll Up, Best Hip Hop Album for Avery, Best Listeners' Choice for Himself, loosing the nomination to his friend Fifi Cooper for Best New Artist, and most recently won awards for Best Rap Album and Record of the respectively, at the SAMA 22. This is probably the best time than ever, for all EMtee’s hatters to shut it and shove it, as this multiaward winning rapper has not finished making it big in his music career and rolling all awards in a bag full of money from all these awards ceremonies.

OOPS: The Multi-Award winning EMTee has done it again, sure the METROs and SAMAs aren’t enough. EMtee's career dates back in his early teen years, at the age of 17 he started making money from his musical efforts. He became the youngest choir conductor at Barnato Park High School, and won many provincial competitions as a member of his school's marimba band. Opting to not repeat his final year although his pass was not good enough to enter him into the major universities in South Africa. In 2010, he collaborated with South African rapper Maraza on a song titled "In It To Win It". They appeared on Channel O's show "Head Rush". Little did he know he was in-

deed “In It To Win All Of It”. In early 2015, EMtee's producer Ruff, produced the beat for the song that would eventually become his debut single "Roll Up". EMTee claimed that the entire track was recorded and finalized in two hours. The track received major radio play in Southern Africa and peaked at the top of DJ Speedsta's hip hop chart on YFM. His debut album Avery was released on iTunes and to domestic music retailers. He is currently the third most played South African hip hop artist in the latter part of 2015.

LAUNCHES HIS SINGLE Themba D. Ndlovu themban@kasivibz.co.za The ever so determined and proud South African live mixing music Producer turned top house music DJ has finally released and launched his own single to be aired by all our favourite radio stations nation wide soon. e was born in Nelspruit Mpumalanga, at Schoemansdal in Shongwe Mission Hospital. “I lived with and was brought up by my grandmother, while my mother was out there hustling, and just like most young black kids from eKasi, my dad was not present, we did not have much of a relationship me and him” he said amused by it. Nick always knew he was smart and could be whatever he wants to be, but back in the days life was slow where he grew up, there was no much access to television, so he knew nothing about being an actor, song writer, musician and innovator, “I was too young too understand what I really had” he said, but wanted to become what his mother wanted him to be, and picked a career choice in accounting. This was despite people telling him about his singing talent and being part of and singing at church, when he was younger. He moved to stay with his mom when he was in Grade 7 and spent a lot of his time with her, and believes moving from staying with his grandmother in the village to the township was cool and the vibe was really vibey. “Moving in with my mom was much better because I moved to the township, but it

brought challenges such as being exposed to more and new things; the lingo, meeting new people and cooler friends and adapting to the new location environment and schooling” he said. His singing started to become serious when he enrolled at a new school and joined a church where he sang in both the school and church choir while living with his mom in the new location. He also lended himself a role in assisting with church choir practices, which he later took over as conductor. Opportunities started opening up for his music career to dawn, when he acquired classical music training as part of his school music lessons. “I was trained on classical music by the most amazing and late classical music trainer by the name…, who actually formed the biggest part of my music craft, he said. “I used to live and breathe that form of music, even the song writing came through that”, he continued. Not only did Nick start realising his career in music was moving towards a more unblemished direction, but appreciated his leadership

qualities as well, as he was a numerous times entrusted by the elders in the band, with big responsibilities that tested his leadership qualities. “I always knew I am a leader from an early age, even though I always tend to dodge that imbedded character”. Nicholas moved from Mpumalanga and went to Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) in Pretoria with a plan to study Opera Music, but by God’s divine intervention, he met a friend who exposed him to a world of many music and growth opportunities, which led him to study towards a National Diploma in Musical Theatre, which scooped him a number of roles such as Tom Collins in Rent and Newt Lee in Parade. He never looked back since then, as he went to further and completed his studies in the US at Ballstate University, Indiana. Nicholas "Nicksoul" Nkuna is a young talented and unforgettably handsome performer who stands tall and ever proud of any production he is part of. He treats every vibe and production as his final.

Nicholas “Nicksoul” Nkuna always knew he was smart and could be whatever he wants to be.

Coming back from his studies in the US he earned his debut in 2010 during the World Cup festivity in South Africa as the bold and strong Dingaane in “Shaka the Zulu Musical” and memorable as the second actor of colour to bring the title role to life in Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Phantom of Opera". Not only did he further his studies in the US, but took his soulful combination of innovation, writing, acting and musical skills to the international shores of the US and the UK. Nicksoul became a South African treasure when he roared as Simba in Disney's premier UK and Ireland tour of "The Lion King". He generously smiles: " seeing someone else's success brightens and encourages me". After being on so many stages, the young lad found himself a role on "Skeem Saam", an SABC1 youth soapie opera, where he stars as the ever so charming Sakhile. He was a finalist in a reality TV show called " Top Actor SA on BET , also stares in an SABC3 series titled Roer Jou Voete which plays every Wednesday. Nicksoul thrilled viewers of ETV Sunrise, Yo - TV , Morning Live and the rest of the nation when he launched his music career with his Soulfulhouse single "ingomayami" from his upcoming album “Sound of Emotion” coming out soon. The nation, world and KASIVIBZ lovers must get ready to dance. Cont - Pg 9

EN across Mzansi dreamed of one day becoming Zahara's husband. But news just broke that will lead to disappointment for all of them. The popular Afro Pop singer has confirmed she is engaged to DJ Amaza Ntshanga. The truth came out at TMG Entertainment's event to celebrate DJ S'bu's radio comeback on Vuma FM.   At the party Zahara couldn't hide the pretty, shining rock on her finger. In October there were ru-

mours that the Loliwe hitmaker and her boyfriend were engaged but she denied them. Since then the singer's love life has been hogging the entertainment headlines. However, at an event held in Joburg recently, she finally admitted she would be tying the knot. Yes, OK. I'm engaged but I'm not going to tell you who to," she said when journalists asked her about the ring on her finger. "I'm engaged and not married. You know I don't talk about my personal life," she said, hiding her fingers in

black gloves. Although the singer from the Eastern Cape, born Bulelwa Mkutukana, didn't really want to talk about her engagement, she was smiling from ear to ear when she was asked about the ring. She told Daily Sun she would soon be going on an international tour to promote her recently released album, Country Girl. "I will start my tour with shows in Austria and New York." She said Country Girl went gold within 20 hours of its release and hit platinum in less than a week on the market. She was also excited to speak about a single she was working on with DJ S'bu, about blessings and gratitude. The Afro-pop queen added she would soon be recording a live DVD where she would perform songs from both her albums. Back in 2013, there was a story of Sifiso Simelane, who wanted to pay 100 cows as lobola for Zahara, but she declined them. He then started praying for his dream to come true, but yesterday he told the People's Paper he had accepted the battle was lost.

BOITY and mother say shut up

SEXY: Boity Thulo in her sensual SAMA 22 Dress!

Article and Picture Courtesy: www.citizen.co.za

B

oity Thulo was the talk of the Twittersphere when she walked the Red Carpert at the 22nd South African Music Awards in Durban. Her sexy Quiteria and George dress, according to Tweeps, revealed her private parts! Twitter trolls accused Boity of being an attention seeker, with some even expressing disgust over her revealing red carpet moment. The only problem with their attack? Boity did not reveal her vagina on the red carpet, and the picture doing the rounds showed nothing but a shadow created by the flower sequence of her dress. Boity’s mother, Modiehi Thulo, took to Twitter to defend her daughter from the clueless Tweeps. Boity also took to Facebook to address her body shamers, who still believed she did in fact show her lady parts. “I’ve realized that the most body shaming comes from fellow women. I will not allow your projection to make me dislike MY body. I

am in love with my body and I will dress it as I please. Your obsession and double standards of the female body is tiring. I will not wear something that does not make me happy for the sake of pleasing people who are angry at how comfortable I am in my skin. I encourage women to dress as they please, in whatever they feel comfortable in. You do not share your body with anyone. So it’s not your business to please someone else because of their own discomforts. If I have a problem with my thighs, my boobs, my ass, my legs, my scars, my hair…I will be the one to worry about them and ‘fix’ the issue as I please. Please stop encouraging the behaviour of making your anger and projection another person’s problem. My body and how I dress it should not effect you in any way. We do not share the body nor do we make a joint effort in clothing it. Stop. Body. Shaming,” Boity Thulo concluded.

These updates will naturally also be applied to the five-door M135i models (three-door 1 Series models will no longer be offered in South Africa), which will likewise be rechristened M140i. The designation changes will apply from July 2016 production.

TIME TO LISTEN TO BOOM SHAKA

Boom Shaka was a pioneering kwaito music group from South Africa, consisting of Junior Sokhela, Lebo Mathosa, Theo Nhlengethwa and Thembi Seete. Their first album was produced in 1994. Boom Shaka's first single "It's About Time" was released in 1993. This track (and others by Boom Shaka) can be found on Stern's Music website (http://www.sternsmusic.com/ discography_detailed/665). Boom Shaka became one of the most successful bands of the mid-1990s in South Africa and their music became the soundtrack for many young people in the newly democratic South Africa. Boom Shaka was able to break into the international market and achieved success outside of South Africa in London among other places. Boom Shaka, being one of the leading kwaito groups in South Africa, has an extreme

effect on youth audiences throughout the country. To begin, Boom Shaka was purposefully put together to appeal to a youth audience by presenting a new sound and a new style. They continually swept the charts and propelling in the youth audiences due to their distinctive sound, visual style, and dance moves. Boom Shaka is known for creating popular and distinctive kwaito dance moves such as "Chop di Grass". "Chop di grass" pays homage to the men who mow the grass during the construction of highways. This dancing is said to come from traditional African dance moves, continuing to make kwaito a unique and localised South African music genre. For example, they say that their dancing comes from an urban dance of Zaire called the Kwasa Kwasa. These sexy kwaito dance moves add to their popularity. This uniqueness propelled Boom Shaka's music in the youth radio charts and on a global level as well. The major presence of female vocalists in the group, specifically, the artists Lebo Mathosa and Thembi Seete have been seen as both modes of female objectification and simultaneously voices

for the feminist movement. The style of dancing and dress has stirred controversy among South African listeners as it invokes a type of female sexuality that many find degrading. The artists, however, would prefer to see their music as a liberating force. This sentiment is especially reflected in their track It's About Time produced on their debut album, Boom Shaka. I'm tired Of people always asking me What's happening, what's going on They try to see what's in my head Why can't they leave me alone (Chorus) It's about time You Listened to Boom Shaka It's about time You listened to Boom ... My weapon is my voice...

MANDOZA NKALAKATHA Mduduzi Tshabalala (1978), well known as Mandoza, is a South African kwaito musician. He was born in the Zola South section of Soweto, where he shared a house with his mother, his grandparents and two sisters. He never knew his father, his mother claiming that he was murdered the same year Mandoza was born. When he was sixteen years old he was charged with stealing a car and received a one-and-a-half year sentence, which he served in Diepkloof prison. When he was released from prison, Mandoza formed the group Chiskop along with three childhood friends, S’bu, Siphiwe and Sizwe. His talents were discovered by Arthur Mafokate also known as the King of

Kwaito. He was first played on air by DJ Sipho Mbatha A.K.A. Sgqemeza of Durban Youth Radio now joined Ukhozi FM. Mandoza strives to give an inspirational message to Kwaito. Mandoza uses his music as a way to encourage young South Africans to achieve their goals. His song Uzoyithola Kanjani means "how are you going to get it, if you don't get up and go for it." He credits much of his success to his mentor, Glenn Morris, who helped him during his drug addled early years. In 2001 he won an award for Song Of The Year for Nkalakatha at the South African Music Awards (SAMA), and won another award in 2006 for Best Collaboration Music Video with Danny K at the Channel O Music Video Awards .

SOWETO

ALEXANDRA

KWAMASHU

MAMELODI

GUGULETHU

Soweto is a township of the city of Johannesburg in Gauteng, South Africa, bordering the city's mining belt in the south. Its name is an English syllabic abbreviation for South Western Townships. Formerly a separate municipality, it is now incorporated in the City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality, suburbs of Johannesburg. Soweto came to the world's attention on 16 June 1976 with the Soweto Uprising, when mass protests erupted over the government's policy to enforce education in Afrikaans rather than their native language. Police opened fire in Orlando West on 10,000 students marching from Naledi High School to Orlando Stadium. The rioting continued and 23 people died on the first day in Soweto, 21 of whom were black, including the minor Hector Pieterson, as well as two white people, including Melville Edelstein, a lifelong humanitarian. The impact of the Soweto protests reverberated through the country and across the world. In their aftermath, economic and cultural sanctions were introduced from abroad. Political activists left the country to train for guerrilla resistance. Soweto and other townships became the stage for violent state repression. Since 1991 this date and the school children have been commemorated by the International Day of the African Child. The suburb was not historically allowed to create employment centres within the area, so almost all of its residents are commuters to other parts of the city. Metrorail operates commuter trains between Soweto and central Johannesburg. Soweto train stations are at Naledi, Merafe, Inhlazane, Ikwezi, Dube, Phefeni, Phomolong, Mzimhlophe, Mlamlankunzi, Orlando, Nancefield, Kliptown, Tshiawelo and Midway. Commuters are largely reliant on trains, buses including Rea Vaya, PUTOC and Metro buses and minibus taxis. Soweto has museums and monuments which include the Hector Peterson Museum, Nelson Mandela National Museum and Regina Mundi Churh. It is also home to two PSL clubs Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates. Famous Sowetans and residents include former President Nelson Mandela, Desmond Tutu, Irvin Khoza, Luca Radebe, Lilian Ngoyi, Tokyo Sexwale and more. Soweto is No.1 tourist destination in SA, it caters the best entertainment, food, tour operations at Vilakazi Street.

Alexandra Township, Alex in short, is the oldest township in the Gauteng Province of South Africa. It forms part of the City of Johannesburg and is located near the upper-class suburb of Sandton. Alexandra is bounded by Wynberg on the west; Malboro and Kelvin on the north, Kew, Lombardy West and Lombardy East on the south. It is commonly known as “Gomorrah” among local residents. Alexandra is one of the poorest urban areas in the country, situated on the banks of the Jukskei River. It was established in 1912, on land originally owned by a farmer, Mr Papenfus, who tried to establish a white residential township there, naming it after his wife, Alexandra. However, because it was (at the time) a considerable distance from the center of Johannesburg, this was not a great success. Consequently, in 1912, Alexandra was proclaimed as a so-called "native township". Because the township was proclaimed before the South African 1913 Land Act, it was one of the few urban areas in the country where black people could own land under a freehold title. The Township has a very reach history and has been a home for some of South Africa's notable residents including the first black South African President Nelson Mandela, former president Kgalema Petrus Motlanthe, Zanele Mbeki (wife of former President Thabo Mbeki), Mark Mathabane (tennis player and author of the autobiography Kaffir Boy). Samora Machel former Mozambiquan President, Alfred Nzo former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Joe Modise former Minister of Defence, Hugh Masekela (musician and trumpeter), Wally Serote (poet), Irvin Khoza (sports administrator). Nkululeko Flabba Habedi, LTido, DJ Arch Jnr and more prominent politicians, humanitarians and musicians. It has some of best entertainment venues which cater braai meat and local African cuisine, shopping centres, heritage sites including the Mandela Museum, has reliable 24 hour public transport and Gautrain connecting Sandton & OR Tambo Airport, cycle and motor bike tours. In 1999 African athletes were housed in Alex for their 7th All Africa Games in Johannesburg, giving birth to Tsutsumani Village housing.

KwaMashu is a township 32 kilometres (20 mi) north of Durban, South Africa. The name is in honour of Sir Marshall Campbell and means Place of Marshall. KwaMashu is notable for its lively performing arts scene, lively performing arts scene thrives including Maskandi, hip hop, pansula dancing, dance, drama, football. Through performance the young people of KwaMashu are raising the cultural profile of KwaMashu, aided significantly by the skills, resources and direction of eKhaya Multi Arts Centre for Arts and Performance. The township also boasts a community radio station at the eKhaya Multi Arts Centre, called Vibe 94.70 FM, which has been in operation for more than 4 years. Formerly a sugar cane plantation, KwaMashu’s name is a Zulu adaptation of Marshall which means ‘the place of Marshall’. It refers to Sir Marshall Campbell (1848-1917) the sugar cane farmer and magnate who owned the land on which KwaMashu stands and who was a member of the Legislative Assembly of the Natal colony (now KwaZulu Natal). KwaMashu is one of the first of Durban’s townships that emerged with the implementation of the Apartheid Group Areas Act during the 1950s. The Group Areas Act was a system used by the Apartheid government to physically separate Indians, Coloureds and Africans who lived collectively in places such as Umkhumbane (Cato Manor ) an Indian township in Durban, Sophiatown in Johannesburg and District Six in Cape Town. KwaMashu became home to many of the people who were displaced through the implementation of the Act. KwaMashu’s related township are Inanda, uMlazi, Ntuzuma, Chesterville and Lamontville. It has over 25 public schools which is one of the biggest number of public schools in a historic township. The township’s notable people include Jacob Zuma, President of South Africa, Henry Cele an actor who played Shaka Zulu; Leleti Khumalo an actress in Uzalo and Generations, Tu Nokwe, Siyabonga Novete, Jeff Radebe, a politician; Zakes Bantwini, musician and producer; Ricky Rick, Hip Hop artist and producer; Deborah Fraser, a gospel singer and Nomzamo Mbatha, an actress.

Mamelodi, part of the City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality, is a township set up by the then apartheid government northeast of Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa. It was established when 16 houses were built on the farm Vlakfontein in June 1953 and later the name changed to Mamelodi, the name given to president Paul Kruger by the Africans because of his ability to whistle and imitate birds, also meaning Mother of Melodies. The Group Areas Act designated Mamelodi as a blacks-only area, though this became moot with the fall of apartheid in 1994. In the 1960s black citizens where forcefully removed from the suburb of Lady Selbourne in Pretoria to Mamelodi, Garankuwa and Attridgeville. Anti-apartheid activist Reverend Nico Smith preached in Mamelodi from 1982–1989, and obtained permission to live there himself from 1985– 1989. During that period, he and his wife Ellen were the only whites legally allowed to live in Mamelodi. The township still has vastly more blacks than any other group as of 2010. Since 2001 Mamelodi has had a large AIDS outreach program helping several thousand orphans in the community. Mamelodi is home to the largest AIDS Hospice Center in South Africa with 140 beds available free of charge. The University of Pretoria operates a campus in Mamelodi. The campus was incorporated to the University of Pretoria on 2 January 2004. There are different organisations and groups that are working towards improving the standard of living and education levels within the township. One of these is the The Mamelodi Trust which operates within five schools in the area. The township is home to the Mamelodi Sundowns of the ABSA Premier League and the Mamelodi Bees Basketball of the South African Women's Basketball League. Mamelodi has produced football stars like Themba Mguni, Daniel "Mambush" Mudau, Sammy Zindos and Joel 'Fire' Masilela who were both sported from Mamelod Publican FC by Sundowns. It is also the home of Edward "MaGents" Motale: former Bafana bafana and Orlando Pirates player. Mamelodi is also home to former Miss RSA 2003 Joan Ramagoshi.

Gugulethu or Guguletu is a township 15 km from Cape Town, South Africa. Though much more tranquil than it was underapartheid, Gugulethu is still a troubled area. The main route, Steve Biko Drive (formerly known as NY1), runs through the township. The town planners did not give names to any of the roads, all were simply numbered. NY1 stood for "Native Yard 1", Gugulethu at the time not having been named as such and being considered simply as an extension of the adjoining township of Nyanga. There has been strong pressure for the NY terminology to be dropped and for the streets to be renamed. This resulted in the City of Cape Town renaming NY1 as Steve Biko Drive in September 2012. The renaming process continues and the City recently announced that streets will be named after, amongst others, Albert Luthuli, Amy Biehl, Ray Alexander and the "Gugulethu Seven" (the latter being a group who were fatally ambushed by security police in Gugulethu in 1986).Currently all the streets have new names but the NY terminology is still predominant as residents are used to it. The name is a contraction of igugu lethu, which is Xhosa for our pride. Gugulethu, along with Nyanga, was established in the 1960s due to the overcrowding of Langa, which was the only black residential area for Cape Town at the time. During the Apartheid era black South Africans were not permitted to live in the city of Cape Town, and many people were removed from areas such as District Six to Gugulethu, Nyanga and Langa. The predominant language in Gugulethu is Xhosa. The newest development in Gugulethu is the Gugulethu Square Mall which was developed by Old Mutual, Tokyo Sexwale's Group 5 and local businessman Mzoli Ngcawuzele. The development has been controversial with claims of corruption, nepotism and significant protests against the mall's employment practices. On 29 October 2009, police shot rubber bullets into a crowd of people protesting about the mall. Gugulethu also is home to the internationally popular Mzolis Chisa Nyama as one of the main attractions in the area together with the Gugulethu Seven.

as South African sport awards presenting become only for “the 4 Musketeers” of Sport Presenting, Thomas Mlambo, Minenhle Dlamini, Robert Marawa and Carol Tshabalala of late. Seems no sport event is possible without them, not that they are not the best in the game, but are there no other equally or more capable sport pre-

senters in the country to step up and show us what they have got better than the “fantastic 4 presenters”. In the years each of them made moves from one tv presenting job to another, Minnie Dlamini moved from being presenter for Live on SABC 1 to join SABC Sport, Thomas Mlambo swapped roles with Robert Marawa from Supersport to SABC Sport and later Carol felt SABC Sport was not for her any more and also decided

to join her partner in Crime Robert Marawa at Supersport. Those moves killed it. What about the other colleagues in Sport, Mpho Maboi, Tshepo Mabona, Lebo Motshoene and Lindani Mbentse, are they not experienced enough or may be it is about the beauty in the work the 4 have on display. Guys in the sport presenting arena roll and pull up your socks, all the sport presenting opportunities for sport awards seem to be

swaying one direction! Where is change? I think it’s best for us to start a campaign #OthersMustRise to show us what they have in their CV’s, otherwise some of us may have to take it upon ourselves to rise up to the challenge and show you how it is done. I must however show appreciation and applaud “the 4 Musketeers” on a job well done over the years to date. Send your comments on our Facebook Page: KASIVIBZ

The EURO 2016 in France is under way and we are to see Muhsin Ertugral get on the plane there after to join the Buccaneers as their new Head Coach. Seems football clubs have realised the full power of social media when Orlando Pirates announced on Facebook that Mushin Ertugral will be joining them as the new coach in the coming season. Mushin has already sent a list of players he wants in his squad before the season starts. Looks like Pirates will be guns blazing this season with the new coach coming to start and fulfil his coaching duties ahead of the Soweto Derby clash in the Carling Black Label Cup.

BAROKA FC ACHIEVES PSL PROMOTION Courtesy of: www.soccerladuma.co.za Baroka FC has in an unfamiliar style proven to deserve to be in top-flight football by achieving their PSL promotion, we congratulate them for the automatic promotion. They have secured au-

tomatic promotion to the Absa Premiership, having clinched the National First Division title. Coach Kgoloko Thobejane's side only needed a point to clinch the title and promotion on the final day of the NFD season and that's exactly what they got, as they drew 1-1 with Milano

United at the Peter Mokaba Stadium. Mzwanele Mahashe handed the Cape side the lead in the first half, however Thabiso Kutumela continued his fine season form and netted the equaliser in the 70th minute. Kutumela, who is set to join Orlando Pirates next

season, finished as the league's top scorer with 18 goals. The NFD outfit also enjoyed a fine cup run this campaign, as they reached the semi-finals of the Nedbank Cup, where they eventually lost 2-0 to SuperSport United. Comment on Facebook KASIVIBZ

Themba D. Ndlovu themban@kasivibz.co.za The Lions of the North are out of the Den to join Baroka FC in the big league and be amongst the top 16 South African clubs to compete in the 2016/17 ABSA Premier Soccer League. As a former Highlands Park player and top leading goal scorer my self in the 1999/ 2000 season, I am proud of the team for having once again booked their spot in the coming PSL season, after their absence in top-flight football for so many years. “Credit to the boys for displaying such team spirit, hunger to be in the PSL and for the fight they put the whole season”, said Coach Alan Freese after beating Mbombela United 2-0 courtesy Peter Shalulile’s goals.

AMAKHOSI HAS THE CARLING CUP IN THE BAG Themba D. Ndlovu themban@kasivibz.co.za

T

he Kaizer Chiefs Head Coach Steve “Ngamla” Komphela is adamant they have the 2016 Carling Black Label Champion Cup in the bag after losing it to the formidable Champions Orlando Pirates six times in a row. Only having won and tasting the trophy once ever

since this competition was Launched in 2009. He “Komphela” believes the team is well prepared for this one, amidst all the changes in his team, having transferred 20 players from the squad already. Leaving only 14 players in the teams payroll. Amakhosi are known to be “the cup specialists”, but the Carling Cup seem to be a heavy one to lift for

the Phefeni Glamour Boys. Will Kaizer Chiefs eventually turn the corner after loosing it for so many occasions, or will Orlando Pirates continue their yearly dominance over them in the Carling Black Label Champion Cup? We are waiting and ready to see what the two Soweto Giants have in store for us on Saturday the 30th of July 2016 at FNB stadium.

Sundowns showed a nerve of steel against ES Setif when Tiyani Mabunda opened the scoring with a stunning shot in the first half followed by Khama Billiat’s cracker of a goal to make it two in the second half, causing the home team fans to riot and start throwing bottles with others running into the pitch two munites before the end of stoppage time. The match was stopped before the end of referees optional time and shortly resumed again after Pitso approached the referee for clarity on what the outcome of his decision will be. Sundowns was officially confirmed the winner, beating ES Setif 2 - 0 away, after a moment of confusion.

WE MOURN AS HEART ATTACK KILLS OUR TOP COACHES Themba D. Ndlovu themban@kasivibz.co.za

Peter Shalulile: Scores 2 goals to take Highlands Park to PSL.

South Africa, Nigeria, Africa and the world are mourning the passing of two of African football coaching greats, Mr. Stephen Keshi and Mr. Ted Dimitru who died of heart attack a few weeks ago.

Hearts skipped a beat when South Africa learnt of Ted Dimitru’s death to the deadly Heart Attack, on Thursday the 26 May 2016. Ted certainly is one of the most decorated and record holding coaches South African football has ever had, having coached Bafana

Bafana and numerous PSL clubs including the big three. He won successive league titles with Mamelodi Sundowns in 1998 and 1999, two titles with Kaizer Chiefs in 2004 and 2005, only spending one season with Orlando Pirates for 1999/ 2000 campaign.

Stephen Keshi had plans to find and coach a team in South Africa when he met his death on the 7th June 2016. He will be remembered for his humble appeal during the CAF Cup Of Nations South Africa, which he became a champion with his Nigerian team in 2013.
